Corona wave returns again! 1700 cases reported in 5 days, 7 patients died; Know how many infected in which state

Corona Virus Update: The first death from Corona has been confirmed in the national capital Delhi on Saturday May 31, 2025. The 60-year-old woman was already suffering from many diseases.
Covid-19 Cases In India: Corona cases are continuously increasing in the country. In the last 5 days, 1700 cases of Covid have been reported and now this number has crossed 2700. According to the Union Health Ministry, till May 30, 2710 cases have been registered across the country. Earlier, 752 cases were reported in a week. Cases are continuously increasing rapidly.
If we talk about different states of the country, there are 16 cases in Andhra Pradesh, 3 in Arunachal Pradesh, 2 in Assam, 1 in Chandigarh, 3 in Chhattisgarh, 294 in Delhi, 7 in Goa, 223 in Gujarat, 20 in Haryana, 4 in Jammu and Kashmir, 148 in Karnataka, 1147 in Kerala, 10 in Madhya Pradesh, 424 in Maharashtra, 2 in Mizoram, 5 in Odisha, 35 in Puducherry, 4 in Punjab, 51 in Rajasthan, 148 in Tamil Nadu, 3 in Telangana, 2 in Uttarakhand, 42 in Uttar Pradesh and 116 in West Bengal. A woman has also died in Delhi.
In which states are the cases increasing
Active cases have increased in many states, including Kerala (+355), Maharashtra (+153) and Delhi (+24). Apart from this, deaths have also increased in some places, including Maharashtra (+4) and Karnataka (+1). However, no new cases or deaths have been reported in many states. Apart from this, the highest number of patients recovered from Covid-19 in Maharashtra. Maharashtra has the highest number of patients who have defeated Corona, 8,29,849, Kerala has 6,84,927 and Andhra Pradesh has 2,32,635.
Which states have had the highest number of deaths
Maximum deaths (from the first wave of Corona till now): Maharashtra (1,48,606), Tamil Nadu (38,086) and Karnataka (40,412). Let us tell you that after May 19, new cases of corona virus have been registered in many states of the country. These include Andhra Pradesh (4), Chhattisgarh (1), Goa (1), Gujarat (76), Haryana (8), Karnataka (34), Madhya Pradesh (2), Rajasthan (11), Tamil Nadu (3) and Telangana (1).
Let us inform you that India’s active Covid-19 caseload has climbed to 2,710, with seven deaths reported across states in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday. A total of 1,170 patients have been discharged during the same period.
Most fatalities involved patients with multiple comorbidities. Delhi reported the death of a 60-year-old woman who had undergone surgery for acute intestinal obstruction. Covid-19 was detected incidentally. Gujarat reported one death; details are awaited.
In Karnataka, a 70-year-old man with several underlying conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and ischemic heart disease, died of acute cardiorespiratory arrest. His Covid-19 status is pending RT-PCR confirmation.
Maharashtra recorded two deaths. One was a 67-year-old man with ARDS and pneumonia, who tested positive for Covid-19 and had several comorbidities. The second was a 21-year-old man with diabetic ketoacidosis and a lower respiratory tract infection. One of the deaths was reconciled from previous data.
Punjab reported the death of a 39-year-old man with Hepatitis B and respiratory complications. Tamil Nadu recorded one fatality — a 60-year-old man with diabetes, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease.
Kerala continues to report the highest number of active cases at 1,147. Reconciliation of mortality data is ongoing. Bihar is yet to provide its daily update.
Union Minister of State for Health and AYUSH (Independent Charge), Prataprao Jadhav, said the Centre is “fully prepared” to manage any potential rise in infections.
“We have reviewed the infrastructure developed during earlier Covid-19 waves, such as oxygen plants and ICU beds. Preparations are in place, and health systems are equipped to respond effectively,” he said.
