Bike riders from Vadnagar and Bastar welcomed in Raipur; Chief Minister says service, social responsibility and national development must become part of the youth agenda

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday described the Seva Sankalp Yatra as more than a journey, saying it seeks to connect the energy of young Indians with service, social responsibility and nation-building.

Addressing the ‘Seva Sankalp Yatra and Yuva Samvad’ programme at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur, Sai welcomed bike riders who had travelled from Vadnagar in Gujarat as well as riders who arrived from different districts of the Bastar division.

“The Seva Sankalp Yatra is an important medium for connecting the country’s youth power with service, social concerns and nation-building,” Sai said.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Chief Minister said India was moving towards the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 and that Chhattisgarh was pursuing its development plans in accordance with that larger objective.

He said the journey, which began from Vadnagar and is proceeding towards Varanasi, was taking messages of cleanliness, a TB-free India, drug de-addiction and environmental conservation to communities along its route.

Sai also recalled his experience of working with Modi after becoming a Union Minister of State in 2014, saying it had given him an opportunity to observe the Prime Minister’s working style, discipline and approach to public service closely.

Bastar’s Children Speak of a Different Future

Bastar emerged as a central theme of the youth interaction, with Sai saying changes in areas once affected by violence and fear were allowing a new generation to think differently about its future.

“The dreams now visible in the eyes of Bastar’s children are the most heartening picture of a changing Chhattisgarh,” the Chief Minister said.

Students Govind Kumar, Drishti Dhruv, Deepak Markam and Deena Uike, who have come from Bastar and are studying at schools in Raipur, shared their experiences during the interaction.

They spoke about improvements in access to schools, hospitals, roads and other basic facilities in remote areas and expressed aspirations to join the Indian Army and civil services or pursue careers as doctors, engineers and in other professions.

Sai said the government’s objective was to ensure that children across the state received quality education and equal opportunities to progress.

The Chief Minister also referred to the state’s ‘Viksit Chhattisgarh’ vision document, saying future development was being planned with the objective of ensuring that its benefits reached every region and section of society.

According to details shared at the programme, 1,200 young people are undertaking a journey of nearly 2,000 kilometres as part of the Seva Sankalp initiative, carrying public-awareness messages on social and environmental issues.

Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Skill Development Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, MPs Brijmohan Agrawal, Laxmi Verma and V.D. Sharma, legislators, public representatives, bike riders and a large number of school students attended the programme.
