RAIPUR: Bringing governance closer to rural communities and strengthening essential infrastructure, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and Kawardha MLA Vijay Sharma visited Madmada and Kabartola villages in Kabirdham district’s Bodla development block on Saturday, October 17, 2026, inaugurating public facilities, launching road development work and announcing several infrastructure projects. During his visit, Sharma interacted directly with villagers, listened to their grievances and directed officials to take necessary steps towards resolving their concerns.

The visit combined infrastructure development, improved access to government services and direct public engagement, with particular emphasis on facilities for women, children and rural households.

Anganwadi Centre Inaugurated to Strengthen Early Childhood Services

At Madmada village, the Deputy Chief Minister attended the inauguration of the newly constructed Anganwadi Centre No. 01.

In a gesture highlighting community participation, local women formally inaugurated the centre by cutting the ceremonial ribbon in Sharma’s presence.

The new building is expected to provide a more suitable environment for early childhood education, nutrition-related activities and other services delivered through the Anganwadi system.

During his interaction with villagers, Sharma emphasised the importance of paying special attention to children’s nutrition, education and healthcare.

The facility is intended to strengthen the delivery of essential services to young children and mothers while improving the physical infrastructure available to Anganwadi workers.

Atal Digital Service Centre Brings Banking Facilities to Villagers’ Doorsteps

In another important initiative, Sharma inaugurated the newly constructed Atal Digital Service Centre building at Madmada, developed at a cost of ₹5 lakh.

The centre is designed to make banking and digital services more accessible to rural residents, reducing their dependence on facilities located in towns and urban centres.

Villagers will be able to access services related to government welfare payments, including Mahtari Vandan Yojana, old-age pensions and disability pensions.

The centre will also facilitate basic banking transactions, including cash withdrawals and deposits.

For elderly residents, women and beneficiaries of government schemes, the availability of these services within the village is expected to save travelling time and reduce transportation expenses.

The initiative represents an effort to make financial services and welfare benefits more accessible at the village level.

₹47.15-Lakh Gaurav Path to Improve Road Infrastructure

The Deputy Chief Minister also performed the Bhoomi Pujan for a 500-metre Gaurav Path project at Madmada, involving an estimated investment of ₹47.15 lakh.

The project is intended to strengthen local road infrastructure and improve connectivity within the village.

Better roads are essential for rural mobility, particularly for students, farmers, workers and residents travelling to markets, healthcare facilities and educational institutions.

The proposed Gaurav Path forms part of the broader infrastructure initiatives announced during Sharma’s visit.

Madmada–Baijalpur Road Construction Announced

Responding to demands raised by villagers, Sharma announced the construction of the Madmada–Baijalpur main road under the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

The proposed road is expected to improve connectivity between the village and the main transport network.

The Deputy Chief Minister also announced three community buildings at different locations in Madmada.

The proposed works include a community building near the market shed at an estimated cost of ₹15 lakh, another near the Patwari building costing ₹10 lakh, and a third near the old cooperative society premises at ₹6.50 lakh.

Together, these three community facilities represent an announced investment of ₹31.50 lakh.

Once completed, the buildings are expected to provide spaces for social gatherings, community meetings and other local activities.

Deputy CM Participates in Durga Puja and Navdha Ramayan at Kabartola

Continuing his visit, Sharma reached Kabartola village, where he participated in Durga Puja celebrations and the Navdha Ramayan programme.

He offered prayers to the Goddess and sought blessings for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Chhattisgarh.

The Deputy Chief Minister subsequently attended the Navdha Ramayan programme, listened to the recitation of the Ramayan and joined villagers in the devotional atmosphere of Ramdhun.

His participation reflected the importance of religious and cultural traditions in rural community life.

The gathering also provided an opportunity for residents to interact with their elected representative in an informal setting.

Sharma Sits Among Villagers, Listens to Public Grievances

One of the notable aspects of the visit was the Deputy Chief Minister’s direct interaction with residents of Kabartola.

Rather than limiting his engagement to formal proceedings, Sharma sat among villagers and listened to their concerns regarding basic infrastructure and public facilities.

Residents raised demands relating to roads, drainage systems, community buildings and other essential amenities.

After hearing their concerns, Sharma directed the officials concerned to take necessary action and address the issues.

The interaction highlighted the importance of direct communication between public representatives and citizens in identifying local development priorities.

Development Works Worth ₹20.20 Lakh Announced for Kabartola

During his visit to Kabartola, Sharma announced development works involving an estimated expenditure of ₹20.20 lakh.

The proposed projects include a community building near the Panchayat Bhawan at ₹6.50 lakh, two cement-concrete roads costing ₹2.60 lakh each, a platform near the Navdha Ramayan venue at ₹3.50 lakh, and drainage construction towards the Sheetla Temple at ₹5 lakh.

These works are intended to improve everyday facilities and provide better infrastructure for community activities.

The proposed drainage work is particularly relevant to village sanitation and the management of wastewater, while the roads are expected to improve local movement.

The community building and platform will provide additional space for public, cultural and social gatherings.

Rural Development Through Infrastructure and Accessible Services

The projects inaugurated, launched and announced during the visit reflect a development approach combining basic infrastructure with improved access to public services.

The Anganwadi Centre is expected to support early childhood development, while the Atal Digital Service Centre will provide easier access to banking and welfare-related services.

Similarly, the proposed road projects, community buildings and drainage facilities are intended to address practical requirements raised by local residents.

The initiatives also underline the role of village-level infrastructure in improving everyday living conditions and strengthening rural connectivity.

Public Participation Remains Central to Village Development

The Deputy Chief Minister’s interactions with villagers in Madmada and Kabartola provided an opportunity to understand local needs directly.

The announcements concerning roads, community facilities and drainage followed demands placed before him by residents.

The visit also brought together public representatives, local communities and administrative officials, reinforcing the importance of coordination in implementing rural development initiatives.

The inauguration and announcement programmes were attended by District Panchayat President Ishwari Sahu, District Panchayat Member Maniram Sahu, former District Panchayat President Videshiram Dhurve, Janpad Panchayat President Ramkinkar Verma and other public representatives.

With new public facilities inaugurated and additional projects announced, the focus will now shift to the timely execution of the proposed works and the effective delivery of services to residents.
