The Chief Minister informed the delegation that dedicated development authorities have been established for the Garhwal, Kumaon and Nainital regions to promote balanced social, economic and sustainable development while safeguarding the state’s unique traditions and natural resources.

Describing Uttarakhand as the sacred land of sages and saints, CM Dhami stressed the importance of preserving the state’s spiritual heritage and fragile Himalayan ecosystem for future generations.

Praise for Chhattisgarh’s Media Initiatives

During the interaction, Dhami appreciated the vision of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai in promoting constructive engagement with the media. He also congratulated the Chhattisgarh Government’s Public Relations Department for organising the inter-state media exposure visit, describing such initiatives as valuable platforms for exchanging ideas, strengthening democratic values and enhancing cooperation between states.

The Uttarakhand Chief Minister observed that Chhattisgarh has emerged as one of the leading states in safeguarding press freedom and expanding welfare initiatives for journalists. He said such exchange programmes help deepen mutual understanding while strengthening India’s democratic institutions.

Invitation to Haridwar Kumbh

One of the highlights of the meeting was Chief Minister Dhami’s special invitation to media representatives from Chhattisgarh—and eventually from across the country—to attend the upcoming Haridwar Kumbh next year.

Chief Minister Dhami proposed that journalists from every state should be given an opportunity to witness the spiritual grandeur, world-class arrangements and cultural significance of the Kumbh firsthand, enabling them to present authentic experiences to readers and viewers across India.

A Bridge Between Two States

The interaction reflected a meaningful convergence of Chhattisgarh’s rich tribal heritage and natural resources with Uttarakhand’s Himalayan spirituality and cultural legacy. Officials described the visit as an important initiative that will further strengthen inter-state cooperation, cultural understanding and national integration.

The delegation included media representatives from Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, Korba, Jagdalpur, Rajnandgaon, Korea and Dhamtari, along with officers of the Chhattisgarh Directorate of Public Relations. Senior officials from the Uttarakhand Information and Public Relations Department were also present during the meeting.
