- A Special Feature on the Occasion of the Birthday of the Minister of Industry and Labor, Lakhanlal Dewangan
Raipur: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the State Government has prioritised the coordinated development of both workers and industries with a clear and distinct policy; this approach is today manifesting in the form of tangible results.
The schemes implemented by the Department of Labor clearly reflect the sentiment that workers are not merely economic units, but rather the very bedrock of society.
Bringing stability, dignity, and security into their lives is the true hallmark of genuine development. This special occasion on April 12th serves as a day to honor the dedication, efficiency, and spirit of public service demonstrated by the Minister of Industry and Labor, Lakhanlal Dewangan. It is through his able leadership that Chhattisgarh has emerged as a model state characterised by progress, prosperity, and equal opportunities.

In this Silver Jubilee year of 2026, Chhattisgarh’s ongoing journey of development is not merely a narrative of schemes and announcements; rather, it is the saga of a leadership that has resolved to move forward by taking every section of society—including workers, youth, and entrepreneurs—along with it.
In this transformative era, the contributions of the Minister of Industry and Labor, Lakhanlal Dewangan, are particularly noteworthy. His work is not confined solely to administrative efficiency; it stands as a living testament to social sensitivity and foresight.
The Chhattisgarh Government’s resolve to script a new chapter in the industrial sector—even at the relatively young age of 25 years since the state’s inception—is a fact evident to all.
Today, Chhattisgarh commands a distinct identity of its own within the industrial landscape. The new Industrial Policy (2024–2030) places a strong emphasis on the inclusive development of Chhattisgarh.
Among the various measures undertaken to empower workers, the most inspiring initiative is the provision of free education to their children in premier educational institutions. This is not merely a scheme; it represents a pathway to transformation—one that enables the rising generation to forge their own golden and secure future through the power of knowledge and opportunity.
In the contemporary context, the fact that children from working-class families are now receiving their education in the state’s most prestigious schools presents a vivid picture of a ‘New Chhattisgarh.’ Furthermore, the government’s provision of incentive amounts worth lakhs of rupees to students who secure a place in the merit list reflects a mindset in which the recognition of talent is paramount.
This is not merely a moment of pride for these children, but also a source of self-confidence for the entire working class community.
Significant progress has also been achieved in the realm of economic empowerment through the Department of Industry and Labor. Over the past two years, hundreds of crores of rupees have been transferred directly into the accounts of workers; this has not only enhanced transparency but also ensured that the tangible benefits of government schemes reach their intended beneficiaries.
The fact that thousands of workers receive benefits from various schemes on a daily basis stands as proof that the administration’s policies are being effectively implemented at the grassroots level. Initiatives such as housing assistance, the ‘Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Shram Anna Yojana’ (Labor Food Scheme), and prompt financial aid in the event of accidents are crucial for making the lives of workers safer and more dignified. In particular, the provision of hot and nutritious meals for a mere ₹5 under the ‘Shram Anna Yojana’ serves as a hallmark of a humane and compassionate administration.
Under the leadership of Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan, Chhattisgarh has scaled new heights in the sphere of industrial development. Through the Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, concrete measures have been undertaken to encourage investors within the state and to expand employment opportunities. Investment proposals worth crores of rupees, the establishment of hundreds of new industries, and the creation of thousands of jobs for the youth stand as a testament to the success of this policy.
Steps toward establishing the country’s first AI Data Center in Nava Raipur, investments in emerging sectors such as semiconductors and IT, and the implementation of the Startup Policy—all these initiatives are propelling Chhattisgarh beyond a traditional economy and firmly positioning it within the modern technological era.
This transformation is not merely economic in nature; it is also poised to provide a new direction to the state’s social fabric. In the realm of administrative reforms, measures such as the e-tendering system and the ‘Single Window System’ have enhanced transparency, thereby bolstering investor confidence and simplifying the process of conducting business within the state. This is precisely why Chhattisgarh is increasingly becoming an attractive destination for investors today.
The Government of Chhattisgarh has made social inclusion a pivotal part of its developmental journey. Initiatives such as incentives for women entrepreneurs, hostels for working women, and schemes for industrial development in remote areas ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of society. Indeed, social inclusion serves as the very foundation of any state’s true progress.
Through his earnest and visionary approach—coupled with his diligent discharge of departmental responsibilities—the Minister for Industries and Labor, Lakhanlal Dewangan, has demonstrated that when leadership is characterised by sensitivity and clear vision, development remains confined not merely to statistics, but instead brings about tangible transformation in the lives of the people. Furthermore, under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s administration, this transformation is assuming an even more robust and expansive form.
