Raipur: Today on Saturday March 28, 2026 , at the district-level Workers’ Conference held in Jashpur, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai transferred a total sum of ₹27.15 crore directly into the bank accounts of 79,340 construction workers and their families through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The event was presided over by the State’s Labor Minister, Lakhanlal Dewangan. Also present on this occasion were Dr. Rampratap Singh, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, along with other public representatives.

Addressing the conference, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that, despite the ongoing conflict in West Asia, there is no need for any concern regarding the availability of petrol, diesel, and LPG gas in Chhattisgarh.

He clarified that while India relies on imports to meet its fuel requirements, the supply chain will not face any negative impact thanks to the Central Government’s effective foreign policy and its strong diplomatic ties with various nations.

Chief Minister Sai noted that, amidst the current circumstances, certain anti-social elements are spreading misleading news and rumors on social media, thereby creating an atmosphere of unnecessary fear and confusion among the public.

He appealed to the residents of the state to disregard such rumors and to refrain from unnecessarily hoarding petrol, diesel, or gas.

He gave his assurance that just as fuel availability has been maintained in the past, it will continue to be available without interruption in the future as well.

During the program, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai elaborated on 12 different schemes implemented by both the State and Central Governments for the welfare of workers. He mentioned that registered workers receive financial assistance of ₹20,000 upon the birth of a child. Additionally, financial aid of up to ₹1.5 lakh is being provided for house construction. To facilitate self-employment among workers, assistance is also being extended for the purchase of e-rickshaws—a subsidy that has recently been increased from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.5 lakh.

The Chief Minister further stated that the government has also undertaken significant initiatives in the field of education. If a worker’s child secures a place in the top 10 in the Class 10 or Class 12 board examinations, they are awarded an incentive amount of ₹2 lakh.
Furthermore, to ensure quality education for meritorious children, the provision—under which the top 100 students were previously enrolled in private schools—has now been expanded to cover 200 seats.

Chief Minister Sai further stated that the “Deendayal Landless Agricultural Laborer Welfare Scheme” is being implemented for landless agricultural workers, under which an annual financial assistance of ₹10,000 is provided to such laborers.
He informed that a sum exceeding ₹495 crore has recently been directly transferred into the bank accounts of lakhs of landless laborers.

Applauding the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, Chief Minister Sai remarked that, through Jan Dhan accounts, the benefits of various schemes are now reaching the beneficiaries directly.

He noted that, in the past, a significant portion of the funds disbursed would often be siphoned off midway; however, the entire amount now reaches the beneficiaries directly, thereby strengthening both transparency and public trust.

Chief Minister Sai announced that the Provident Fund (PF) system has been made universal, enabling workers to continue availing their PF benefits regardless of which part of the country they are working in.
Additionally, the minimum pension amount has been increased to ₹1,000. He also highlighted that registered workers are being provided with access to superior and free medical treatment through ESIC hospitals.

Concluding his address, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described the workers as the backbone of the state’s development, asserting that the state is progressing rapidly solely due to their hard work and contributions.

Expressing his deep respect for all workers, he reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a bright future for them, the CM affirmed.
