Raipur: In a dignified ceremony held today on Saturday March 14, 2025 at his residence in Nava Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai presented a Tata Sierra car as a gift to Akanksha Satyawanshi—the physiotherapist for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team and a daughter of Chhattisgarh. Congratulating Akanksha on this occasion, the Chief Minister remarked that our daughters have brought glory to the nation by winning the World Cup.

He lauded Tata Motors for this initiative of gifting cars to honor and encourage the women’s cricket team.

Chief Minister Sai stated that there is no dearth of sporting talent in the state, and the state government is working with full commitment to promote sports. He noted that the continuous development of sports infrastructure is providing players in the state with better training, enabling them to deliver outstanding performances at both national and international levels. The Chief Minister added that through initiatives such as the Bastar Olympics and Sarguja Olympics, youth from the remote regions of the state are also actively engaging in sports. Furthermore, the state’s opportunity to host the National Tribal Games has fostered a positive environment for sports within the region.

The Chief Minister expressed that this historic achievement by the women’s cricket team would inspire the daughters of the state to strive for greater heights. He recalled that during their previous meeting, Akanksha’s self-confidence and energy were immensely inspiring, and that same enthusiasm remains evident in her today. He expressed his confidence that this very spirit would lead the team to success in future World Cup tournaments as well.

The Chief Minister’s Affection and Encouragement Always Boost My Morale: Akanksha Satyawanshi

Akanksha Satyawanshi, the physiotherapist for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, stated that upon the team’s return after winning the World Cup, it was Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai who was the first to encourage and boost the morale of the entire squad; furthermore, recognizing her as a daughter of the state, he extended a personal invitation to meet with her. She remarked that the Chief Minister’s affection and encouragement—much like that of a guardian—invariably serve to uplift her spirits and boost her morale.

Akanksha remarked that receiving this honor from the Chief Minister today has made her day truly memorable, and this moment will forever hold a special place in her life. She also shared her experiences regarding her role as a physiotherapist within the team and the journey leading up to their World Cup victory.

Present on this occasion were Dr. Rampratap Singh, Chairman of the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board; Akanksha’s family members; and representatives from Tata Motors.

Notably, Tata Motors is gifting Tata Sierra SUVs to the Indian Women’s Cricket Team to commemorate their historic victory in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. In keeping with this initiative, Akanksha Satyawanshi—a resident of Chhattisgarh and the physiotherapist for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team—was also presented with a Tata Sierra car today.

Let us tell you that the Indian Women’s Cricket Team created history last year by winning their maiden Women’s World Cup title. In honor of this achievement, Tata Motors had announced that it would gift the top-end model of the Sierra SUV to every player on the team.
