CM Sai inaugurates Mainpat Mahotsav : performs groundbreaking ceremonies for 109 development projects worth ₹523 crore in Surguja District

Raipur/Mainpat: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the three-day Mainpat Mahotsav being organised at Mainpat, Surguja district, today on Friday February 13, 2026 . At the ceremony, he extended his greetings and best wishes to everyone for the Mainpat Mahotsav.

The Chief Minister announced a grant of ₹1 crore for tourism development in Mainpat and the construction of a fully equipped bus stand in Sitapur. He also unveiled 109 development projects worth ₹523 crore 20 lakh 53 thousand in Surguja district.

While addressing the gathering , Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that this festival is an important medium to showcase Surguja’s culture and identity, introducing the country and the world to its rich traditions. Both local and foreign artists will have the opportunity to showcase their talents.

CM Sai said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.” To fulfill the commitment of a developed India, the state government is working towards a developed Chhattisgarh.

Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, one thousand rupees are being deposited every month into the accounts of more than 70 lakh mothers and sisters, and more than 15,000 crore rupees have been transferred so far. He said that in the past two years, the region has made rapid progress towards becoming free from Naxalism and paid tribute to the courage of the state’s soldiers.

At the event, the Chief Minister was welcomed with the “Tashi Shopa” dance by Tibetan brothers. He visited stalls set up by various departments and distributed beneficiary-oriented materials to eligible beneficiaries. Local artists also performed cultural performances.

Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the tourism sector in the state is continuously developing.

The state government is working diligently towards the overall development of tourist destinations and strengthening infrastructure. The increasing tourist flow to naturally beautiful places like Mainpat is providing new opportunities for self-employment for local youth and women.

MLA Ram Kumar Toppo stated that this is not merely the beginning of a festival, but a celebration of our rich culture and love for nature.

MLA Prabodh Minj stated that the region has received development projects worth over ₹500 crore (approximately $500 million), which will expand infrastructure and boost tourism.

During the Mainpat Festival, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated and performed groundbreaking ceremonies for 109 development projects worth ₹523 crore (approximately $523 million). These include the ground breaking ceremony of 81 works costing Rs 429 crore 11 lakh 40 thousand and the inauguration of 28 works costing Rs 94 crore 09 lakh 13 thousand.
