Raipur :Under the “One Nation One Ration Card” scheme of the Government of India, Aadhaar authentication based food distribution is being ensured in the state of Chhattisgarh. To implement this process smoothly, it is mandatory to complete e-KYC of the family members of all ration card holders associated with the Public Distribution System (PDS).
At present, 81.56 lakh ration cards are in circulation in Chhattisgarh, in which 2.73 crore members are registered. Of these, e-KYC of 2.35 crore members has been completed, while e-KYC of about 38 lakh members is remaining. Children below 5 years of age have been exempted from e-KYC by the Government of India.
State Food Secretary Reena Babasaheb Kangale informed on Thursday June 19, 2025 that e-KYC facility is available through e-POS machines in all fair price shops of the state. Along with this, beneficiaries can also do e-KYC themselves from home through their smartphone through “Mera e-KYC” mobile application developed by the Government of India. To do e-KYC through Mera e-KYC app, download the app from Google Play Store in Android mobile, select the state, enter your Aadhaar number and do face e-KYC through Aadhaar OTP. She has appealed to all ration card holders to get their and all family members’ e-KYC completed before the last date of 30 June 2025, so that there is no inconvenience in food distribution.
