If the bill was unconstitutional, the court would have cancelled it: Rijiju
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, I thank all the leaders for giving their opinion on the bill. Some leaders are saying that this bill is unconstitutional, I want to ask them how can they say this? If it was unconstitutional, the court would have cancelled it. Words like unconstitutional should not be used. This bill is not against the Constitution, as the opposition is claiming. We should not use the words constitutional and unconstitutional lightly.
After this, he targeted AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and said, Asaduddin Owaisi raised many issues and alleged that provisions are being made in Waqf for Muslims and children of Muslims, but why not for Hindus? I want to tell them that there is already a provision for Hindus, there is no need to make a new law for this.

Afzal Ansari opposes Waqf Bill
Afzal Ansari, MP from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, opposed the Waqf Bill and said that the Minister, while presenting the bill, laid special emphasis on some points and my questions are focused on these. Why was there a need for this amendment bill for the purpose of protecting the properties of Waqf. You could have cooperated in that direction anyway. You made this effort by making a separate bill and the minister said that he wants to give rights to the Muslims of the Pasmanda section. This government has eaten up the reservation of the majority section of the country. It is understandable how much pain the backward and minorities of Uttar Pradesh are in.

Muslims are most safe in India – Sambit Patra
BJP MP Sambit Patra, while participating in the discussion, said that if Muslims are safe anywhere in the world, then that country is India. We have never snatched anything from anyone, we have given it to those who have come as refugees. You are raising doubts on this India, what is the status of Waqf Board in Muslim countries, there is Waqf Board in India and its property has been given legal protection. Despite this, why is there a ruckus. If Modiji is giving security to the woman, then what problem can anyone have. Waqf means donation. Donation is important in Hindu, Christian, all. Donate to the poor, you will find God. At the same time, in Islam too, Zakat has been mentioned in the name of Sadqa. Waqf donation land has been made for charity, today people are calling this amendment unconstitutional.

I have not come to oppose any party. The bill brought against the Waqf Bill, you say it is for security and for women. You do not bring the bill for reservation of women because you do not want to give reservation to Dalit-backward women. Jagdambika Pal objected to Pappu Yadav’s statement and said that I want action to be taken against them.

They are neither concerned about the backward nor the Muslims – Amit Shah

It was said on Article 370 that rivers of blood will flow, while today Omar Abdullah has returned victorious in Jammu and Kashmir. Development, tourism has increased there, terrorism will end. The Home Minister further said – It is you who are scaring the Muslims, not us, and creating a vote bank by scaring them.
At the end of his address, Home Minister Amit Shah said – They are neither concerned about the backward, nor the Muslims, they work on the basis of casteism and appeasement for years. By working on this basis, they have increased the politics of their family. And Modi ji’s government has worked to end this. The public elected Modi ji for three terms and the Bharatiya Janata Party will remain in power for three terms. I want to congratulate Kiren Rijiju for this bill.

‘The government does not want to interfere in Waqf’
Home Minister Amit Shah said – Waqf is a trust created by donations of Muslim brothers, the government does not want to interfere in it. The Mutawalli will also be theirs, land worth lakhs of crores and income of Rs 126 crore. The opposition asks what is the purpose of income. Today all the members of RJD said- When the amendment of 2013 came, what did Lalu ji say, he said that all the lands have been usurped. In Patna itself, all the property of the dak bungalow, a big building has been built on it. We support it but want a strict law to be brought.
‘Restrictions were also imposed on the jurisdiction of the courts’
During this, Home Minister Amit Shah said in the House- The amendment made in 2013 was done after just five hours, this time there is a discussion of 16 hours in both the houses. The committee that was formed regarding this, representatives of the state governments came, three study tours were done. Around 92.68 lakh suggestions came online, you cannot dismiss it like this. The members who are here, have not been elected by the grace of any family, one member has said that there was a provision of appeal in the old law. It was clear in it that no matter what the decision, there can be no appeal, restrictions were also imposed on the jurisdiction of the courts. It is fashionable to wave the constitution now, how can any decision according to the constitution be outside the purview of the court. You did this for vote bank, we are rejecting it, this will not work. One member said that the minorities will not accept this law, what are you threatening brother. It is the law of the Parliament, everyone will have to accept it.
The opposition is instigating the minorities – Amit Shah
The Home Minister said that the opposition is instigating the minorities. Waqf is not the representative body of the Muslim community and this bill is for public welfare, for vote bank. From 1913 to 2013, the total land of the Waqf Board was 18 lakh acres and from 2013 to 2025, the land has increased by 21 lakh. It has increased significantly after 2013. Someone’s land will not become Waqf land just by declaring it. The land of tribals will get protection, and there should be ownership to make Waqf, one can donate one’s own land, not the land of the village. No property will be Waqf without registration.

Waqf occupies many properties in the country – Home Minister

During this, he also mentioned one lakh 38 thousand acres of land being given on rent in the Manipatti Committee report, transfer of land of private institutions on a lease of hundred years, putting 1500 acres of land of Vijaypur village in dispute by claiming it, giving it on rent of 12000 months to a five star hotel. The Home Minister said that this money belongs to poor Muslims, it is not for theft by the rich. Claim was made on a temple in Karnataka, 600 acres of land, many lands of Christian community were also claimed, many groups are opposing the Waqf Bill. Home Minister said- Claim was made on 1700 acres of land in Telangana, land of Moregaon district in Assam, land related to Gurudwara in Haryana was handed over to Waqf. Chandrashekhar Azad Park in Prayagraj was also declared Waqf.
‘Muslim brothers are being intimidated regarding the bill’
Home Minister said- Waqf Bill is for the maintenance of Waqf land. In the next four years all Muslims will understand what will be the benefit of this bill. But the opposition is spreading rumors about this bill. Muslim brothers are being intimidated regarding this bill. During this, Home Minister Amit Shah again said- One’s own property is donated, not government land, temples or mosques and churches cannot be built on government land. Home Minister Amit Shah said- If someone has gone abroad, someone has gone to another city for a job, then how is it fair to declare his land as Waqf Board’s land. That is why a collector has been placed in the Waqf Council. Amit Shah said that people are being intimidated

Confusion was spread against Waqf – Amit Shah
During the discussion on the Waqf Bill in the Lok Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah said – Waqf is an Arabic word whose history is linked to some Hadiths. The meaning in which it is used today is the donation of property in the name of Allah. In Waqf, a person makes a sacred donation. Donation can be made only of that thing which is ours, I cannot donate government property or someone else’s property. This whole debate is on this matter.
‘Many members have misconceptions about the Waqf Bill’
The Home Minister further said that confusion has been spread against Waqf. The Home Minister further said that many members have misconceptions about the Waqf Bill. The word Waqf means donation of property in the name of Allah. Home Minister Amit Shah said during this time – Waqf Council and Waqf Board have been there since 1995, but the opposition is opposing the Waqf Bill for vote bank. During his address, Home Minister Amit Shah said that not a single non-Muslim will come in the Waqf Board. The Home Minister said that if the amendment had not been made in 2013, this bill would not have come. During that time, 125 properties of Lutyens of Delhi were given to Waqf by making amendments. India needs freedom from the fear of Waqf – Anurag Thakur
BJP MP Anurag Thakur said during the discussion on the Waqf Amendment Bill, ‘This is not a bill but hope (Integrated Waqf Management Empowerment, Efficiency and Development). There is empowerment, efficiency and development in this hope. In view of this, the people of the country are supporting it. Many organizations like Catholic Bishops Conference of India, Church of India, Kerala Council of Churches and Kerala Catholic Bishops Council, All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council and Muslim Rashtriya Manch have supported it. I thank them for this. The time has come to amend the Waqf as it has become a den of tyranny and corruption. The time has come to abolish it and amend it. India needs freedom from the fear of Waqf because the Waqf law made under the rule of Congress meant ‘khata na bahi, jo waqf kahe wahi sahi’.

Till now there was no digitisation and registration of Waqf properties. The income from Waqf properties is continuously decreasing and no one was getting any benefit from it. We have given opportunity to women in the Waqf Board… The opposition is giving speeches here only for appeasement and considers Muslims only as their vote bank’.

Waqf Bill is an anti-constitutional bill – Imran Masood
Congress MP and Imran Masood said during the discussion on the Waqf Bill, ‘WAMSI portal was being mentioned repeatedly…10 years is a very long time. You could not register all the properties in 10 years… You could not do this work in 10 years but now you say that the properties have to be registered within 6 months and if this is not done, then those properties will no longer belong to the Waqf. Who will do the registration? Your officers. When it could not be done in 10 years, how will it be done in 6 months? This is an anti-constitutional bill.’
