Raipur: In view of the demand for various types of chemical fertilizers during the Kharif season 2025 in the state, the Chhattisgarh government not only ensured its solid arrangement in time but is also constantly monitoring the supply, storage and distribution system of chemical fertilizers, due to which the condition of storage and lifting of chemical fertilizers in the state remains far better .

To meet the shortage of DAP, the Chhattisgarh government has taken care of the interests of the farmers by ensuring the availability of alternative fertilizers like NPK, Super Phosphate and Nano DAP. So far, 12.27 lakh metric tonnes of various types of fertilizers have been stored in Chhattisgarh, so that sufficient fertilizers are available to the farmers on time in the Kharif season.

In the state of Chhattisgarh, a target of total 14.62 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer distribution was set in Kharif 2025. This includes 7.12 lakh Urea, 3.10 lakh DAP, 1.80 lakh NPK, 60 thousand potash and 2 lakh super phosphate metric tonnes. At present, a total of 12.27 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer has been stored. Due to the shortage of DAP supply, the target of fertilizer distribution has been revised and the target of other alternative fertilizers like NPK, SSP has been significantly increased by 4.62 lakh metric tonnes, owing to which the target of distribution of various types of chemical fertilizers in Kharif season 2025 has become 17.18 lakh metric tonnes.

So far, 5.63 lakh metric tonnes of urea has been stored and 3.76 lakh metric tonnes have been distributed in the state. Currently, 1.86 lakh metric tonnes of urea is available for distribution to the farmers.

It is worth mentioning here that urea is used thrice in paddy crop. First time 30% of the total recommended quantity is used at the time of sowing or transplanting, second time 3 to 4 weeks later at the time of emergence of ears and third time 7 to 8 weeks later at the umbilical stage. Thus urea is to be used at various stages from sowing to September, according to which phased supply of urea has been ensured in the state.

In view of the reduction in the import of DAP at the national level, the state government has taken concrete steps towards alternative fertilizers in time, on account of which target of NPK was increased to 4.90 lakh and super phosphate to 3.53 lakh metric tonnes. At present, 11 thousand NPK and 54 thousand super phosphate are stored more than the target, which will fulfill the phosphate element available in 23 thousand 600 metric tonnes of DAP.

Chhattisgarh state will get a total of 2.33 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers in the current month of July as per the supply plan. This includes 1.25 lakh Urea, 48,850 DAP, 34,380 NPK, 10 thousand Potash and 76 thousand Super Phosphate.

The total storage of DAP is expected to be 1.95 lakh metric tonnes by the end of July. To prevent the shortage of DAP in the state, a target has been set for additional storage of 25 thousand metric tonnes of Super Phosphate and 40 thousand metric tonnes of NPK. Also, to promote Nano DAP fertilizer, one lakh bottles are being stored in the cooperative societies, which will fulfill the requirement of 25 thousand metric tonnes of traditional DAP.

The Chhattisgarh government has been preparing posters and pamphlets for the promotion of alternative fertilizers since April and has given information to farmers about the use of other alternative fertilizers instead of DAP , displayed in all cooperative societies and procurement centers. In this series, agricultural scientists and agriculture department officials also trained farmers on the scientific use of NPK, super phosphate and nano DAP during the Vikasit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan. The Chhattisgarh government is ensuring uninterrupted supply of fertilizers in Kharif 2025 through efficient management. So farmers need not to worry
