Lucknow :The bugle of the by -election to be held in nine assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh has been played. Voting on these seats will be held on 13 November and counting will be held on 23 November. Out of these, the by -election in eight seats is being done due to the election of MPs of MLAs. The by -election on one seat is due to the punishment of the MLA.
New Delhi: The Election Commission has announced the dates of the by -election to be held in 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Voting will be held on 13 November. At the same time, the counting of votes will be held on November 23. By -elections are being held in nine seats in the state. These include Sisamau, Katehari, Karhal, Kundarki, Phulpur, Ghaziabad, Majhwan, Khair and Meerapur seats. By -elections in eight of these seats are being conducted due to the selection of MLAs for the Lok Sabha. At the same time, the by -election on one seat is being held there due to sentencing the MLA won in 2022. This by -election of nine seats is being considered as a semi -final before the 2027 assembly elections. Let us see which seat is at stake at which seat.
In Uttar Pradesh, the ruling BJP has not announced its candidates for any seat. It has given Meerapur seat to its coalition partner Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), while the BJP’s ally Nishad Party has not got any seat. The Nishad Party won the Majhwan seat in the 2022 election. At the same time, the Samajwadi Party has announced the names of its candidates in five out of 9 seats. He has not announced the candidates in four seats. It is possible that SP should give some of the remaining four seats to the Congress, which is its coalition partner.
Who will win Sisamau’s Election
The by -election for Sisamau assembly seat is being conducted due to the convict of MLA Irfan Solanki. Irfan has been sentenced to seven years in jail in arson of arson in 2022 in Jajmau. He is currently lodged in Maharajganj jail. In the 2022 assembly elections, Irfan Solanki defeated BJP’s Salil Bishnoi by a margin of more than 12 thousand votes. The SP has nominated Irfan’s wife Naseem Solanki for the by -election. The Solanki family has a lot of influence in Sisamau. The SP hopes that he will get the benefit of the sympathy arising out of the influence of the Solanki family and Irfan’s jail. Irfan’s father Haji Mushtaq Solanki has also been elected MLA from Sisamau. The BJP has not yet announced its candidate’s name on this seat.
Who will replace Akhilesh Yadav in Karhal
Due to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav being elected MP, a by -election is being held in Karhal seat in Mainpuri district. Akhilesh defeated BJP Professor SP Singh Baghel in the 2022 election by a huge margin of about 68 thousand votes. Baghel has been elected MP from Agra in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He is currently the Minister of State in the Narendra Modi government. Akhilek won the 2024 Lok Sabha election from Kannauj seat. In Kannauj, SP had given ticket to Akhilesh’s nephew Tej Pratap Yadav. But after cutting his ticket, Akhilesh Yadav himself landed. SP has nominated Tej Pratap for the by -election in Karhal seat. There is a lot of abundance of Yadav voters on this seat of Yadav Hartland. Therefore, this seat is considered to be the traditional seat of Samajwadi Party.
Lal ji Verma’s reputation in Katehari is at stake
Katehari assembly seat comes in Ambedkarr district. In the year 222 elections, by -elections are being held in Katehari seat after Lal Ji Verma was elected MLA on SP ticket from here. For the by -election, SP has nominated Lal Ji Verma’s wife Shobhavati Verma as a candidate. At the same time, the BSP has made Jitend Verma a candidate, while the BJP has not announced the name of its candidate. In the 2022 election in the Katehari assembly seat, SP gave ticket to Lal Ji Verma. At the same time, BJP and Nishad Party nominated Awadhesh Dwivedi and BSP, Prateek Pandey, son of former MLA Pawan Pandey. Kundarki assembly seat comes in Moradabad district. By -election on this seat is being done due to MLA Ziaurrahman Burke becoming MP. Neither the SP nor the BJP has announced its candidate for this by -election. The SP has entrusted the responsibility of this seat to four MLAs along with the District President. In the 2022 assembly elections, Praveen Patel from BJP was elected MLA from Phulpur assembly seat. In the Lok Sabha elections held this year, BJP made him a candidate from Phulpur seat. He was elected MP in this. Because of this, by -elections are being held on this seat. The Samajwadi Party has nominated Mustafa Siddiqui as its candidate in Phulpur assembly seat. He has become a three -time MLA on the BSP ticket. Siddhi joined the Samajwadi Party in 2020. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav gave ticket to Mujtaba Siddiqui in the 2022 assembly elections. But he lost to BJP’s Praveen Patel by a margin of two thousand 765 votes in a thorn. He was elected MLA from Soraon in 2002 and 2007 on BSP ticket. But in 2012, the BSP gave him a ticket from Pratappur assembly seat, but he lost. Then in 2017, the BSP gave him a ticket from Pratappur from the assembly seat. He won. In this by -election, the BSP has given ticket to Shivbaran Pasi in Phulpur. Chandrashekhar Azad’s Azad Samaj Party will also field its candidate from there. Who will challenge BJP in Ghaziabad
Ghaziabad Sadar assembly seat is being done due to MLA Atul Garg being elected as MP from Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat. Asul Garg won from here in 2017 and 2022 as a BJP candidate. Azad Samaj Party has made Satpal Chaudhary a candidate for the election, while the BSP first gave ticket to Ravi Gautam. But later PN Garg was made a candidate by cutting his ticket. From here neither SP nor BJP has announced its candidate.
Why does SP bet on the daughter of former MP in Majhwan
Majhwan MLA Dr. Vinod Bind is being held by the by -election due to his election MP from Bhadohi. From here the Samajwadi Party has made Ramesh Bind’s daughter Jyoti Bind a candidate. Have daughter. Ramesh Bind was elected MLA from Majhwan for three consecutive times. He was elected MP from Bhadohi on a BJP ticket in the Lok Sabha elections 2019, but he joined the SP before the 2024 election. By -election on Khair seat of Aligarh district is being conducted due to MLA Anup Pradhan being elected MP. Pradhan has been elected MLA from Hathras on a BJP ticket. Well the seat is reserved for Scheduled Castes. BJP is winning this seat since 2017. But BJP has not yet announced its candidate’s name. SP can give this seat to its coalition partner Congress. The Azad Samaj Party of Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad has also announced to contest from here. Even after being reserved for the universe caste, the Jat vote is in a decisive role here. At one time it used to be a stronghold of the Rashtriya Lok Dal. But the BJP has defeated him. RLD demanded this seat for the by -election. But BJP has given him only Meerapur seat.
Muslims are decisive in Meerapur
By -elections will also be held in Meerapur assembly seat of Muzaffarnagar. From here, Chandan Chauhan of RLD was elected MLA in the 2022 assembly elections. That election was contested by RLD with SP. This time RLD is with BJP. In the Lok Sabha elections, RLD MLA Chandan Chauhan has been elected a Lok Sabha member from Bijnor seat with the help of BJP. Due to this, a by -election is being held in Meerapur assembly seat. This seat has been given by BJP to its coalition partner RLD. RLD wants to win the Meerapur seat under any circumstances, although it has not yet announced the name of its candidate. RLD has a long list of contenders from Meerapur. Most of the contenders are from Muzaffarnagar. Muslim voters are decisive in Meerapur. There are more than one lakh Muslim voters here. Apart from this, Dalit and Jat voters are also in large numbers. Due to this, the candidate of SP-Congress alliance can benefit here. But this alliance has not announced its candidate yet
