Swami Avimukteshwarananda’s arrest stayed, court reserves decision

The Allahabad High Court has reserved its order on Swami Avimukteshwarananda’s anticipatory bail plea. The court has stated that he will not be arrested until the order is pronounced. Swami Avimukteshwarananda has been directed to cooperate with the investigation. All eyes are now on the court’s final decision.
Allahabad : The Allahabad High Court has reserved its order after hearing Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati’s anticipatory bail plea. The court clarified that Swami Avimukteshwarananda will not be arrested until the final order is pronounced. The court has also directed him to cooperate fully with the investigation here on Friday February 27, 2026 .
During the hearing, the court granted time to both parties to submit their written arguments. The judge stated that he would not unnecessarily delay issuing the order, but it was important to carefully review the record. He also indicated that an effort would be made to deliver the decision by the third week of March. The High Court reserved its decision on anticipatory bail.
It should be noted that Swami Avimukteshwarananda and one of his disciples had approached the High Court to avoid arrest after an FIR was filed in connection with the sexual exploitation of minors. The case is registered under the POCSO Act. Swami Avimukteshwarananda has dismissed the allegations against him as completely baseless and termed it a conspiracy by the government. All eyes are now on the High Court’s final decision.

Swami Avimukteshwarananda stated that today the government has also admitted that the two children did not study here, a fact he had been asserting all along. He stated that the court’s commitment to providing the children with proper protection has strengthened faith in the judicial process. He also stated that the situation has become such that even brothers no longer trust each other, but the entire system is not corrupt. According to him, the Hindu community of the entire country was apprehensive whether their guru had committed any mistake, but now people have developed the confidence that their voices will definitely be heard somewhere.
