Many big revelations have been made in the case of Indore’s Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam. The mastermind behind Raja’s murder has turned out to be his wife Sonam. The police have arrested four accused along with Sonam. The story told by the accused to Indore police is extremely horrifying. It shows how carefully Sonam had planned Raja’s murder.

Sonam and Raj were in love for five months. Raj confessed that his affair with Sonam was of 4 to 5 months. Sonam was unable to have a love marriage because her father was a heart patient. Her father wanted to marry within the society, so she agreed to marry Raja. She had already decided that after marriage, she would kill Raja and start living with Raj. Sonam had told Raj that when I become a widow, then you marry me. Then my family will also agree to our marriage.

Murder plot hatched on May 16, 2025

After this, Raja and Sonam got married on 11th May. Both their families were very happy. Sonam also mingled with the family and never let anyone doubt her conspiracy. On 16th May, a conspiracy was hatched to murder Raja in a cafe in Super Corridor. Lover Raj took his friends Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi along. That night, the entire murder plan was explained to Sonam over the phone for six hours. Before the murder, Raj gave the accused Rs 50,000, a keypad, an Android mobile and a new SIM. The accused gave all these things to Sonam. Sonam was in touch with the three after going to Shillong through this number and phone.

Raj was giving instructions from Indore itself
When Sonam told her lover Raj to leave for Shillong on May 22, Raj arranged tickets for the accused, but at the last moment he himself refused to go. Raj kept giving directions to the three from Indore itself. He also attended Raja’s funeral here so that no one would suspect anything.

The accused were staying just one kilometer away from Sonam
The accused said that they came to Shillong only on Raj’s behest. The ‘Daw’ (small axe) with which Raja was killed was bought online from Guwahati. The accused were staying just one kilometer away from their homestay. Sonam was giving the accused the location every moment. Here, they took a bike on rent and Raja started following Sonam.

Murder on the day of Apara Ekadashi fast
The accused told the police that Raja was murdered on 23 May at 1.30 pm. Sonam had observed Apara Ekadashi fast on 23 May. She had also told this to her mother-in-law on the phone. It is believed that this fast is observed to get freedom from sins and to fulfill wishes, but Sonam committed the murder on this very day.

The accused also told the police that there was a lot of climbing on the hill and they were very tired in chasing him. They told Sonam that they would not be able to kill Raja. After this, Sonam told them that I will give you 20 lakh rupees. After this, the accused decided to kill Raja. When the accused reached near Raja and Sonam, Raja had no clue about this. One of the accused Akash Rajput was keeping a watch on another rented bike. Akash was repeatedly checking the route to see if anyone was coming there.

Raja was alive when he was thrown in the ditch
When the accused went near Raja and attacked him, he fought back, but he broke down due to serious wounds on his chest and head. Police said that Vishal Chauhan, one of the four accused, attacked Raja from behind on his head. During that time, Sonam screamed at the accused to kill him. The accused said that he was alive till he was thrown in the ditch. When the accused were unable to lift Raja to throw him in the ditch, Sonam herself pushed Raja and threw him in the ditch. The accused said that Sonam had talked to her mother-in-law half an hour before this.

Sonam gave money to the accused from Raja’s purse
At the time of the murder, Sonam gave Rs 15,000 to the accused. When the accused expressed displeasure over this, she said that they will get the full money soon. Sonam had given this 15 thousand rupees by taking it out of Raja’s purse. After this, the accused left Raja and Sonam’s Activa 25 km away. Sonam broke the phones and threw them away.

Sonam broke down when Raj Kushwaha was caught

After this, all the accused left for their respective homes by train. Sonam went to Varanasi alone. Here two people went to drop her at the bus stand. The police is still gathering information about where she went after Varanasi. During this time, Sonam kept an eye on the whole case. When the police caught Raj Kushwaha and all the accused, she broke down and reached Ghazipur alone by bus. Here she took a phone from a dhaba owner and talked to home. After this, the police arrived and Sonam was caught.
