Raipur : B.Sc. final year and second year students of Raipur based Pragati College today on Friday January 3, 2025 studied celestial bodies through a 6-inch Newtonian telescope installed at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Department of Physics. They observed Saturn, Jupiter and their Moon, and Mars. Apart from this, the students observed sunspots present on the surface of the Sun.

Also, the students obtained information about nebulae and various constellations located within galaxies and observed them.

Let us inform you that the grounds of study celestial bodies, also known as astronomy, is to comprehend the source, progression, composition, and movements of objects in space like stars, planets, galaxies, and comets, in the end helping us grab our place in the space, learn about the configuration of life, and potentially determine new inhabitable worlds beyond Earth; this includes explore observable facts  like cosmic background radiation and the physics leading celestial bodies, often driven by human inquisitiveness about the space. Besides by  studying celestial bodies, we gain insights into the vastness and complexity of the universe, including its origins and potential future.

This study was done under the guidance of Pawan Sir and Mr. Dhaneshwar Bhandari
