Israeli PM speaks to PM Modi on Pahalgam terror attack
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Indian soil. He expressed solidarity with the people of India and the families of the victims, said Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi to visit Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow

Ministry of External Affairs issued instructions regarding Pakistan
According to the instructions issued by the Ministry of External Affairs – Indian citizens are strictly advised to avoid traveling to Pakistan. All Pakistani citizens currently residing in India should leave India before the expiry of the revised visa. Medical visas issued to Pakistani citizens will be valid only till April 29. All existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani citizens have been canceled from April 27. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement- The government has decided to suspend visa services for Pakistani citizens with immediate effect in line with the decision of the Cabinet Committee on Security Affairs.

Demand for Prime Minister to chair all-party meeting

The central government has called an all-party meeting today in view of the sensitivity of the matter. Meanwhile, the Congress has demanded that Prime Minister Modi should chair an all-party meeting on the Pahalgam terror attack. The Congress said on Thursday that it hopes that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the all-party meeting to be held this evening on the Pahalgam terror attack. He will take all political parties into confidence and take a collective resolution. Congress General Secretary and Communication Incharge Jairam Ramesh said that on the night of April 22 itself, his party had demanded an all-party meeting to discuss the consequences of the Pahalgam terror attack and the targeted killings of so many tourists. Jairam Ramesh said that given the seriousness of the issue and the mood of the nation, the Congress hopes that the Prime Minister will chair the all-party meeting to be held at 6 pm today.

Omar Abdullah’s appeal – Do not consider Kashmiris as enemies
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, ‘We express our condolences to the families who have been affected by this incident. Be it our guests, those 25 people who had come for holidays or our brave soldier who was saving others. I am thankful to the people of Jammu and Kashmir that from Kathua to Kupwara, there is hardly any area where people have not come out of their own free will… I have only one request to the rest of the country, please do not consider Kashmiris as enemies. We are not guilty… The people of Jammu and Kashmir are not enemies of peace, the people of Jammu and Kashmir want peace… To prevent such incidents in future, those responsible for security will have to fulfill their responsibility, whatever help they need from us, we will do it… The government has taken some steps, this is a good thing… The treatment of the injured is going on.’

The US advises its citizens not to visit Jammu and Kashmir
The US State Department has advised citizens not to travel to Jammu and Kashmir. It said that several cities in India are on high alert after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. US citizens are reminded that the State Department has issued a travel advisory for Jammu and Kashmir. It said that terrorist attacks and violent civil unrest are possible in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Do not travel to this state (except for visits to the eastern Ladakh region and its capital Leh). Bodies of Karnataka deceased reach Bengaluru
The bodies of two Karnataka tourists – Manjunath Rao and Bharat Bhushan – who were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, were brought to the Kempegowda International Airport. Union Minister V Somanna and Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya accompanied the tourists’ bodies. Rao’s body was taken to his hometown Shivamogga, while Bhushan’s last rites will be performed in Bengaluru.
Apart from this, 68 tourists living in Madurai, Tamil Nadu have also been safely evacuated from Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. The plane carrying the tourists reached Chennai airport late at night.
According to PTI report, Madhu Sudhan Rao’s body was also brought to Chennai, leaders paid tribute at the airport.
Santosh Jagdale and Kaustubh Ganbote, residents of Pune, Maharashtra, also died in Pahalgam. Their bodies were also brought to Pune airport. Preparations are being made for the last rites of all.
When and where did the terrorist incident happen, what did the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir say
26 people, mostly tourists, were killed in a terrorist attack on Tuesday April 22, 2025 afternoon at a tourist spot known as ‘Mini Switzerland’ near Pahalgam town of Jammu and Kashmir. This is the deadliest attack in the valley after the Pulwama attack in 2019. A high-ranking official said that among the 26 dead, two are foreigners and two are local residents. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described this terrorist attack as ‘far bigger than any attack on common people in recent years’. Officials said that this attack has happened at a time when US Vice President JD Vance is on a visit to India. At the same time, the tourism and trekking season is gaining momentum in Jammu and Kashmir.
The valley was shaken by a terrorist attack after 74 months
After the terrorist attack in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir in February 2019, the deadliest attack in the valley has taken place in Pahalgam. Baisaran, about six kilometers from Pahalgam town, is a vast grassland surrounded by dense pine forests and mountains and is a favorite spot among tourists from the country and the world.
TRF associated with terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba claimed responsibility for the attack
Regarding the Pahalgam attack, officials and eyewitnesses said that armed terrorists entered ‘Mini Switzerland’ and started firing at tourists roaming around restaurants, riding mules, picnicking. ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF), a front organization of Pakistan-based banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET), has claimed responsibility for the attack.
