Earlier, avenging the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian armed forces carried out missile attacks on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday. These include Jaish-e-Mohammed’s stronghold in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s hideout in Muridke. The Prime Minister had earlier given complete freedom to the armed forces to decide on the goals, method and timing of action against terrorism in the wake of the Pahalgam attack. 26 civilians were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack.
