A flood of devotees coming to take bath in Maha Kumbh has thronged from everywhere. In the last three days, 15 lakh vehicles have reached Prayagraj city alone and every hour about 8 thousand vehicles are reaching Sangam city. The situation is such that a huge crowd of devotees has gathered not only on the roads but also at the railway stations.

Swatantrata Senani Express stops at Samastipur railway station in Bihar and a huge crowd of devotees starts struggling to enter inside. In a few minutes this train gets jam packed and hundreds of people are left standing outside helplessly. The situation of crowd at the station is such that the porters are boarding the passengers through the emergency window for one thousand rupees. But the crowd is so much that the general coach and sleeper coach of the train have become equal and whoever is getting space is entering the train to go to Prayagraj. This is the situation of Samastipur, about 500 km away from Sangam city. From this, it can be estimated that how large a number of devotees are reaching Prayagraj from all over the country. Crowd everywhere – train, road, station

Not only Samastipur railway station, but the situation of crowd is similar at all railway stations of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi including UP. There is a jam of several kilometers on the road, even the vehicles coming towards Prayagraj are being turned back before entering the district due to the jam. There is a flood of vehicles on the roads. Heavy crowd has gathered at the railway stations and there is no space in the trains going to Prayagraj. This is when the government had put more than 100 special trains on the Prayagraj route.

The biggest religious gathering of this century is going on in Prayagraj and lakhs of devotees are taking holy bath in Maha Kumbh every day. After the stampede in the Kumbh Mela area on Mauni Amavasya, the administration is more cautious and due to this only a limited number of devotees are being allowed entry in Prayagraj. Due to this, there is a traffic jam of several kilometers on the roads entering Prayagraj from different districts and people are stuck in the jam for 8-10 hours. Since January 13, more than 40 crore devotees have taken bath in Sangam and this figure is continuously increasing.

8 thousand vehicles arriving every hour

There is a flood of devotees coming to bathe in the Maha Kumbh. In the last three days, 15 lakh vehicles have arrived in Prayagraj city alone and now every hour about 8 thousand vehicles are reaching Sangam city. On Sunday, about 1.5 crore devotees have bathed here in a single day. The whole world is surprised to see the pictures of the crowd and terrible traffic jam. Still, the process of gathering of devotees in this Maha Kumbh of faith does not seem to stop. This is the situation when most of the Akharas have left the Kumbh after the bath of Mauni Amavasya. But now everyone is waiting for the Magh Purnima bath to be held on Wednesday and for this reason the devotees who reached here on the weekend have camped in Prayagraj

Long jam on the roads leading to Prayagraj

The situation of crowd is such that the Sangam railway station of Prayagraj has had to be closed till February 14. There is a flood of vehicles on the roads coming to Prayagraj from the nearby districts Rewa, Chitrakoot, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Lucknow, Pratapgarh, Kanpur, Kaushambi. On Sunday, there was a jam of about 10 kilometers in Jhunsi, Naini, Phaphamau area of Prayagraj. Most of the people are trying to reach Prayagraj by private vehicles and due to this there is a jam of vehicles on the roads. Out of the total 112 parkings built on 7 roads in Prayagraj, only 36 parkings are seen to be operational now. This is the reason that a convoy of private vehicles is moving towards Prayagraj and due to lack of parking arrangements, there is a long jam on the roads. Apart from this, due to the large number of vehicles returning, there is a jam on the major highways. People stranded on the roads are appealing to the Prayagraj Police through social media to clear the jam.

Most of the devotees coming to take bath in Prayagraj are also going to Varanasi and Ayodhya. In such a situation, a huge crowd of vehicles is being seen in these districts. Especially on weekends, the number of such people is increasing. There is a huge crowd of devotees in Hanumangarhi of Ayodhya and many times people have to face trouble. Recently, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust had also appealed to the devotees not to come to Ayodhya so that any kind of chaos can be avoided. However, a huge crowd of people is still being seen at religious places like Prayagraj as well as Ayodhya and Varanasi.
