Chief Minister took a review meeting of Housing and Environment Department

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai took a review meeting of the departmental work of the Housing and Environment Department at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan located in Nava Raipur on Sunday July 6, 2025 . During the meeting , the Chief Minister gathered information about the works being conducted under the Nava Raipur Development Authority and gave necessary guidelines to the officers.

Finance and Housing Environment Minister OP Choudhary, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, Secretary Housing and Environment Ankit Anand, CEO of NRDA Chandan Kumar, Commissioner of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Avnish Sharan, CEO of Raipur Development Authority Akash Chikkara and other senior officers were present in the meeting.

The Chief Minister said that the well-organised development of Nava Raipur is the first priority of the government. Keeping in mind the future needs, planned development will be done in the Nava Raipur area. Nava Raipur is the most modern and beautiful capital of the country.

Top educational institutions of the country like IIM, IIT, National Law University have been established here. In future, the settlement in Nava Raipur will increase further, so it is necessary that civic amenities should also be expanded here according to the upcoming needs. The Chief Minister discussed about the expansion of rail connectivity in Nava Raipur area and gave necessary instructions to the officials. The Government of India will construct the Parmalkasa – Kharsia new railway line through Balodabazar district. Expressing the intention to connect this railway line to Nava Raipur, the Chief Minister said that this will expand the rail facilities in Nava Raipur and the common citizens will get its benefits.

Chief Minister Sai stressed the need to build a logistics hub in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar to encourage import and export along with the development of the expressway connecting Visakhapatnam under the Bharat Mala project. Officials told that the construction of the expressway passing through Chhattisgarh is about 95 percent complete. With its construction, the distance between Raipur and Vishakhapatnam will be reduced by 100 km.

The Chief Minister said that a large number of investors are being attracted by the new industrial policy of the state. This will provide employment to the youth here. The Chief Minister inquired about the plantation and growth of Peepal (Sacred Fig) , Banyan, Karanj(Indian beech tree), Neem(Indian lilac), Ashok (Sorrowless tree. ), Amaltas(Indian Laburnum), Gulmohar(Royal Poinciana) etc. trees under the construction of Oxygen Zone in Nava Raipur area.

In the meeting, the officials informed that in future there is a plan to prepare a commission bidding complex for various commissions, boards, corporations etc. of the state government in Nava Raipur area. Besides , there is a proposal to establish a working women hostel , a 100-bed hospital, and another new police station in Nava Raipur.

The Chief Minister said that the allotted land plots should be used appropriately for the construction of new buildings in Nava Raipur area.

The Chief Minister reviewed the functioning of Chhattisgarh Environment Protection Board, Chhattisgarh Housing Board, Town and Country Investment, Chhattisgarh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), Raipur Development Authority (RDA), included under the Housing and Environment Department, and gave necessary instructions to the officials.
