Mumbai / New Delhi : BJP leader and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis left for Delhi on Monday November 25, 2024 evening. He will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah at 10:30 pm tonight.

According to reports, BJP insiders claim that Devendra Fadnavis’ name has almost been finalised for the post of Chief Minister. The current term of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly ends on November 26. If the government is not formed by this deadline, President’s rule will have to be imposed in the state. Congress has suffered its worst performance ever in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. State President Nana Patole offered to resign. Congress got only 16 seats in the assembly elections, which is 28 seats less than the last election. This time the vote share of Congress decreased from 16.1% to 12.42%. However, the party leadership has instructed him to remain in the post for the time being. Patole won the Sakoli seat by a narrow margin of just 208 votes.
