Indigo flight gate did not open at Raipur airport, former CM Bhupesh Baghel and other passengers were stranded for half an hour

The main door of IndiGo flight 6E 6312 which reached Raipur from Delhi could not open on Tuesday June 17, 2025 due to technical fault. Dozens of passengers including former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, MLA Chaturi Nand and Mayor Meenal Chaubey were stuck in the plane for about 30 minutes. Later, the technical team opened the door and brought down all the passengers safely.
After landing, the passengers had to wait inside the flight for about 30 minutes as the main gate of the plane did not open. During attempts to open the door, no signal related to the gate was found on the cabin screen, which made the situation a little worrying and created a stir among the passengers.
Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel told the media that there was a technical fault in the door. After about half an hour of efforts, the gate was opened and everyone was safely evacuated.

According to airport officials, it was a technical problem which was fixed in time. Technical investigation of the flight is being done after the incident. The incident has also raised questions about the preparation of the airport and the technical monitoring of the airline company. However, no injuries or damages have been reported.
