Is Asim Munir supporting Israel and America behind the scenes?

There was a time when Pakistan used to be America’s favourite. If the American President came to India, his visit to Pakistan was also ensured. But for the last 3 decades, Pakistan has been on the margins of world diplomacy. After a long time, Pakistan has got a chance to become America’s favourite again on the pretext of Iran.

Questions are being raised about the recent visit of Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir to the US and his stance in the context of the Israel-Iran war (June 2025). It is being said that he is openly supporting Iran while being with Israel and the US behind the scenes. This question reflects Pakistan’s complex geopolitical situation and economic compulsions.

Obviously, Pakistan has condemned Israel’s attack on Iran and has expressed support for Iran. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif appealed to Muslim countries to unite in Parliament. An Iranian general was quoted as claiming that Pakistan threatened a nuclear attack on Israel, but Khawaja Asif rejected it, saying that Pakistan has no such intention. After this statement of Khawaja Asif, the question has started arising in Pakistan as well that what is the government doing?

Meanwhile, General Asim Munir was in America, where his visit was to balance the Indo-Pak tension after Operation Sindoor of May 2025 and to seek assistance from America. In this context, the question arises whether Munir’s visit to America and Pakistan’s support to Iran is part of a double policy?

Trump’s lunch with Munir

In the midst of this Iran-Israel conflict, suddenly the news comes that Donald Trump has invited Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir for lunch. Modi ji was also invited, but the news came that he refused. This means that Trump would not have had to worry about vegetarian food. Sharing the dining table with Munir means that some airspace is sure to be received from Pakistan.

The story is old, but the script has not changed. America again bypasses the civil government and makes a deal with the army chief. Pakistan once again collects its rent. It has already collected a lot of rent on one of its borders, now the time has come to take advantage of the other border. On the other hand, if we talk about India, it may start the process of buying some more Sukhoi and S-400.

India’s main opposition party, which is yet to recover from the vote boost the ruling party got after the 2019 Balakot surgical strike, is now working to ensure that “Operation Sindoor” does not benefit the government. Trump’s lunch invitation reinforces that strategy, at the cost of national consensus on foreign policy matters.

Such incidents become political propaganda material in Pakistan, where it is shown how it “benefits” to keep the opposition leader in jail.

Trump’s Nobel Hunger

These are Trump times. Every country, somewhere, is fighting among itself to help Trump get a Nobel Peace Prize, indirectly to satisfy his Nobel hunger. They just want the Nobel.
