The first day of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne is over. Australia, who won the toss and elected to bat first, have scored 311 runs in their first innings, losing six wickets. Australia scored 112 runs in 25 overs in the first session on Thursday at a run rate of 4.48 and lost only one wicket. 112 runs are the highest runs scored in the first session on the opening day of the Boxing Day Test. After this, Khawaja shared a 65-run partnership for the second wicket with Steve Smith. Khawaja scored the 27th half-century of his Test career. He was dismissed by Bumrah after scoring 57 runs with the help of six fours in 121 balls. At the same time, Head could not open the account. He was clean bowled by Bumrah. Bumrah then dismissed Mitchell Marsh cheaply. He could score only four runs. Labuschagne scored 72 runs with the help of seven fours in 145 balls. This was the 22nd half-century of his Test career.
