Raipur: The spiritual legacy of Neem Karoli Baba, whose teachings of love, devotion and service have inspired followers in India and across the world, has found cinematic expression in Hanuman Ansh, a film based on the revered saint’s life and spiritual journey.

The film became the focus of a special screening at a cinema in Jora Mall, Raipur, where Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh watched it along with their families. Members of the State Cabinet and chairpersons of various boards, corporations and commissions were also present.

The gathering of the State’s senior constitutional and political leadership for a film centred on a saint gave the screening a significance extending beyond entertainment. Hanuman Ansh seeks to introduce audiences to Neem Karoli Baba’s spiritual philosophy and his message that devotion acquires its deepest meaning through compassion and service to humanity.

From a Saint’s Life to the Cinema Screen

Neem Karoli Baba, also widely known as Maharaj-ji, became renowned for a spiritual philosophy rooted in simplicity, devotion to Lord Hanuman, unconditional love and service to others. The Chief Minister said the saint’s life carries a simple but enduring lesson — service to humanity is true service to God.

Sai said films dealing positively with Indian culture, spiritual heritage and the lives of saints could play an important role in connecting younger generations with the country’s traditions and values.

He also praised the film’s producers, director, actors and other members of the team for bringing the subject to the cinema screen. Cinema, he observed, should not be viewed solely as entertainment; it can also communicate ideas, values and inspiration to society.

“Films based on Indian culture, spiritual heritage and the saint tradition can become a powerful medium for connecting the new generation with its roots, values and traditions,” the Chief Minister said.
