Delhi Election Results 2025: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has suffered a major setback in the Delhi elections. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP has got a landslide victory here. BJP has got 48 seats in the 70-seat Delhi Assembly. The top leadership of BJP has a leading role in this victory. Union Home Minister Amit Shah had taken charge of the election campaign for this victory. Many rallies of PM Modi were also held in Delhi. Along with this, the list of star campaigners of BJP was also long this time and everyone together wrote the story of this victory. On the other hand, this was also a litmus test of 10 years of rule of Arvind Kejriwal and his party AAP, in which he has completely failed.

Earlier, the kind of setback that BJP had received in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was becoming difficult for the party to digest. Even though the NDA got an absolute majority, the BJP did not get enough seats to cross the majority mark alone. After this, the party reviewed it. The BJP was claiming victory on 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, but it could not succeed in it. After this, the opposition started saying that now there is no wave of PM Modi and the BJP’s train is now going to derail. But, the way the BJP made a bumper comeback in the assembly elections one after the other, except Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir, has shut the mouth of the opposition.

After the landslide victory in Haryana, the incredible success in Maharashtra proved that both the charisma and wave of PM Modi are intact. However, unlike Maharashtra and Haryana, the people of Delhi did not reject the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP won 7 out of 7 Lok Sabha seats here.

Still, after the bumper victory of the BJP in the assembly elections of Maharashtra and Haryana, everyone is trying to know what was the reason behind the NDA not doing so well in these two states during the Lok Sabha elections? Whereas, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the support base of the NDA was better in both the states. In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, where the NDA got 17 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra. At the same time, out of the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana, only 5 seats came in the share of BJP. But, in the recently held assembly elections, the BJP won bumper victories in both the states. Out of 90 assembly seats in Haryana, BJP got 48 seats. Whereas, out of 288 seats in Maharashtra assembly elections, Mahayuti got 235 seats.

No decrease in PM Modi’s popularity during assembly elections

When the people of both the states were asked about this during the survey, the answers were very surprising. There was no decrease in PM Narendra Modi’s popularity during the assembly elections in both the states, whereas during the Lok Sabha elections before this, BJP was limited to only 240 seats. The narrative set by Congress and other opposition parties during the Lok Sabha elections about BJP changing the constitution worked then, but its effect was not seen anywhere in the assembly elections. There was a lack of trust in the minds of the people of both the states towards Rahul Gandhi, who was seen as the biggest face of the opposition in the assembly elections.

The same lack of trust was also seen among the people in the Delhi assembly elections regarding both Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal. The reason for this was clear that apart from the face of PM Modi, the people of Delhi trusted his claims and promises.

If we believe the survey of Maharashtra and Haryana which came out earlier, then the people of Haryana and Maharashtra corrected their mistake in the Lok Sabha elections and voted in favor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party. This time the same situation was in Delhi. Unlike 2020, this time the people voted heavily in favor of BJP and the result was that BJP was successful in winning 48 out of 70 seats.

By ensuring the victory of BJP in the Delhi Assembly elections, people have shown that the increasing popularity of PM Modi among the people has paved the way for this historic victory for BJP in Delhi.
