Orders Issued to Bilaspur Commissioner to Conduct an Inquiry

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed deep anguish over the accident that occurred at the Vedanta Power Plant located in Singhitarai, Sakti district. Describing the incident as extremely tragic and distressing, he conveyed his profound condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in this mishap.

Chief Minister Sai stated that, during this difficult time, the State Government stands firmly with the affected families, extending its full sensitivity and unwavering commitment. He announced the provision of financial assistance amounting to ₹5 lakh each to the kin of the deceased workers. Additionally, financial aid of ₹50,000 each will be provided to the workers injured in the accident, ensuring they receive immediate relief and support.

The Chief Minister has directed officials to ensure that arrangements are made for the proper and free-of-cost medical treatment of all the injured individuals. While wishing for the speedy recovery of the injured, he emphasised that no form of negligence in their treatment would be tolerated.

Taking cognizance of the gravity of the incident, Chief Minister Sai has ordered the Commissioner of Bilaspur to conduct an inquiry into the matter. He made it clear that the strictest possible action would be taken against anyone found guilty in connection with this accident.

The Chief Minister affirmed that the State Government is maintaining continuous vigilance over the entire situation, and relief and rehabilitation operations are being executed on a priority basis. He has directed officials to ensure that every possible assistance is extended to the affected families.
