Chhattisgarh will become the industrial hub of India with the new industrial policy – CM Vishnu Deo Sai
Raipur: Our government is making efforts to make Chhattisgarh the industrial hub of India through the new industrial policy. Under this policy, emphasis has been laid on regional economic development, employment generation, modernisation of infrastructure and increasing industrial investment. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said this by joining online at the India Economic Conclave organised at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Friday December 13 , 2024 .
Chief Minister Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government has made many important provisions for the development of tribal and backward areas of the state. He informed that five lakh jobs will be created in Chhattisgarh in the next five years. Industries in Naxal-affected areas are being given many other assistance including special incentive and industries will be reimbursed up to 40 percent of their salary as subsidy for providing employment to surrendered Naxalites. Beneath this policy, industries will be given up to 45% assistance enfold permanent capital investment grant for setting up industries in Bastar. At the same time, covered by SGST reimbursement, up to 150 percent of capital investment will also be refunded to SGST for the next 10 years. Accordance to the new policy, industries are being given exemption in stamp duty and electricity duty, as well as 10 more types of investment incentives.
Chief Minister Sai said that a new industrial area of 118 acres is also being set up for the ancillary units of Nagarnar Steel Plant in Bastar. This will encourage the establishment of micro, small and medium industries.
Chief Minister Sai said that Single Window System 2.0 has been included for investors in the new industry policy. With this, they can get clearance of many departments at one place. This policy is a kind of promotion to the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME ) sector in the state. We are giving priority to green industries and technology based industries in this policy.
In the program, Secretary of Industries Department Rajat Kumar and Director Prabhat Malik also gave a presentation on Nava Raipur and the new industry policy.
Nava Raipur will become IT and education hub
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that Nava Raipur is being developed as IT hub, health hub, education hub. Plug and play infrastructure is being provided to IT and related firms at concessional rates. Spaces have been allotted for creation of more than three and a half thousand jobs in the IT sector, CM added .
The trial run of the railway line of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar has been completed. CM said that we are spending Rs 150 crore on the construction of CBD railway station, infrastructure like roads and public parking. Three other railway stations are also being constructed. He said that many projects related to Nava Raipur will be completed by the end of this year. These include projects like IT and related sectors, electronic manufacturing, household appliances, defense, pharmaceutical, multi-model logistics hub.
Development and security policy against Naxalism
Underlining the efforts of the government to deal with Naxalism, Chief Minister Sai said that many Naxalites have been killed this year and about 1500 have surrendered or have been arrested. He reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminate Naxalism from Chhattisgarh within the next two years. CM said that we have worked on the policy of development and security against Naxalism. In the last one year, along with setting up 34 security camps in Bastar, infrastructure is being developed in the interior villages through the Niyad Nellanar Yojana.
Emphasis on digital governance and transparency
The Chief Minister said that the government has implemented digital governance to ensure transparency and curb corruption in Chhattisgarh. An investment of Rs 266 crore has been made in IT equipments to increase accountability in the administration. The implementation of government schemes can be monitored through the Atal Monitoring App. By applying on the portal through the Swagat Portal, one can easily meet the officials in the ministry without waiting. Through the CMO portal, citizens get information related to the administration quickly. At the same time, through the Sugam App, people can now register from home.
Priority to development of infrastructure
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the goal is to build a developed Chhattisgarh for a developed India. Under this, priority is being given to the development of infrastructure in the state. Important road projects worth Rs 31 thousand crore have been approved by the Central Government. Roads are being expanded to the interior villages of Bastar and Surguja. He said that work is going on rapidly on Raipur-Visakhapatnam Economy Corridor, many rail projects. Raipur, Bilaspur, Jagdalpur airports are being expanded. The Central Government has given the green signal for international flights from Raipur. At the same time, mobile connectivity is being increased to the remote areas of Bastar under the “Niyad Nellanar” Yojana.
Emphasis on water supply and rural development
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai informed about the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission, a scheme to provide clean drinking water to every household in the state. He said that more than 79% of the work of the mission has been completed and so far tap water facility has been provided to 40 lakh houses. Under the Multi-Village Scheme, the problem of water supply is being resolved in those areas where there is a shortage of groundwater. In remote villages like Pachrahi, clean drinking water is now being provided through the Nal Jal Yojana, CM said .
