Senior officer Badrinarayan Meena has been appointed as the new Inspector General of Police (IG) of the Bastar Range.

Raipur: According to the order issued by the Home Department dated June 25, 2026 , IPS officer Badrinarayan Meena (2004 batch)—currently posted as Inspector General of Police at the Police Headquarters in Naya Raipur—has been temporarily posted as Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range (Jagdalpur), until further orders.

Know Badrinarayan Meena

Badrinarayan Meena is a 2004-batch IPS officer belonging to the Chhattisgarh cadre. He hails from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. He was born in Jaipur on May 31, 1980. His father worked in the Census Department. He has one elder brother and three sisters.

Badrinarayan Meena’s elder brother, Shravan Meena, was also a 2004-batch IPS officer who cleared the UPSC exam alongside him. However, he later took the UPSC exam again and joined the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax Department).

Badrinarayan Meena completed his schooling up to the class 10 at Sunflower Public School in Jaipur. He passed his class 11 and 12th at the Government Higher Secondary School, Jaipur . After completing his Class 12th , Meena graduated from Rajasthan College, Jaipur, in 2000, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree before cracking his UPSC Exam in 2004 . .
