Chhattisgarh government will build houses for surrendered Naxalites, there will be a separate budget

Raipur: The policy for rehabilitation of surrendered Naxalites will be launched on the occasion of Rajyotsava. According to its main provisions, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai government will provide housing to those who join the mainstream. They will be given all the things they need. The government will also set a separate budget for the development of surrendered Naxalites and their relatives.

Most of the provisions of the rehabilitation policy have been taken from Assam. The state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma has visited Assam and studied it and 80 percent of the policy there can also be implemented in Chhattisgarh.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that our government will make arrangements for housing of surrendered Naxalites. They will not only get the benefits of all the government schemes but we will also soon launch a special policy for them.

These can be the provisions in rehabilitation policy

Provision will be made for providing housing to Naxalites.

Interest free loan will be given from bank for self employment.

Grant amount will be given for monthly subsistence.

Incentive for surrendered ammunitions also.

Organization of camps for surrender and rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation policy is necessary because

According to defence experts, the way terrorism has been controlled in northeastern states especially Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura after the policy of surrender and rehabilitation of terrorists, the same formula can be used to end Naxalites in Chhattisgarh also.

For this, rehabilitation policy is very necessary, because such misguided youths who have been trapped in the vicious circle of hardcore Naxalites. After bringing them in the mainstream, it will be a challenge to prevent them from getting trapped in the clutches of Naxalites again.

Continuous action in the last nine months

The government is continuously taking action against Naxalites. According to government data, 194 Naxalites have been killed in encounters in Chhattisgarh since January. 801 Naxalites have been arrested and 742 Naxalites have surrendered.
