NADA first suspended Bajrang Punia on 23 April for this offense. After which the world governing body UWW also suspended him. Then Bajrang appealed against the suspension. After this, NADA’s Disciplinary Doping Panel (ADDP) revoked it on 31 May. Until NADA issued a notice of charge. Then NADA gave notice to Bajrang on 23 June. The panel believes that the athlete is liable for sanctions under Article 10.3.1. Which is liable to a suspension of 4 years. Bajrang was first temporarily suspended. In such a situation, the suspension of four years will start from the day the notification was sent to him. The suspension means Bajrang will not be able to return to competitive wrestling and will not be able to apply for coaching jobs abroad if he wanted to.
