The dedicated members of Devpuri Zone have diligently taken care of and protected each sapling planted in this forest for the last two years, as a result of which all the saplings are alive today with a 100% success rate. This is a proof of their untiring hard work and deep dedication towards the environment.

Every Raipur resident will be proud to know that this green scene located in front of Jain Public School Devpuri was once a heap of stones, polythene and garbage. The hardworking members of Green Army Devpuri Zone took a pledge to clean this entire area and make it a green area, which today is not only enhancing the beauty of that area but has also become a source of inspiration for the entire city.

Today, the entire team of Green Army heartily congratulated the Devpuri Zone team for this extraordinary achievement. On this occasion, all the aware citizens and other social organizations of Raipur are appealed to also learn from this inspiring work of Green Army Devpuri Zone and come forward to create similar urban dense forests in their respective areas in the coming rainy season. This collective effort will play an extremely important role in providing relief to our cities and villages from the scorching heat, ensuring the supply of pure oxygen and protecting government land from encroachment.

Sharing his unique and scientific method of creating urban dense forest, Green Army State President and Founder Amitabh Dubey said that the following steps were followed for this:

  1. Plants of 10% of the available land area are planted.
  2. The entire land was dug to a depth of 3 feet.
  3. The excavated soil was mixed with nutrient-rich cow dung manure.
  4. The prepared soil was filled back into the pits.
  5. Plants were carefully planted by making small pits.
  6. A footpath was left for easy movement within the forest.
  7. Plants of different species of about 2 feet height were selected to suit the local climate.

Regular water offering and cleanliness is being taken care of in this dense forest for the last 2 years. Apart from this, special water vessels (Kotni) made of cement have also been installed for birds and animals.

Patron Sanjay Bhowmik, In-charge Gajmohan Sahu, President Sunil Karmakar, Secretary Mukesh Rana, Anshuman Pandey, Hardhan Devnath, Munna Bhai, Rajendra Panigrahi and Mantu Baiin have made their valuable contribution in successfully realizing this ambitious project. This unique initiative of Green Army Devpuri Zone and their unwavering passion is really commendable.

In this important work, Municipal Corporation Raipur also provided commendable support, under which:

  1. Help was provided in fencing the forest area, which ensured the safety of the plants.
  2. Necessary resources were provided for regular water supply to the plants.
