Raipur: BJP national general secretary and newly appointed Chhattisgarh in-charge Smriti Irani arrives in Raipur on Sunday, October 25, 2026, for a two-day organisational visit, accompanied by national secretary and state co-in-charge Siddharth Shambhu. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and state BJP president Kiran Singh Deo welcome her on her first visit to the state since assuming the responsibility.

Meetings at State BJP Headquarters

The visit centres on a series of discussions at Kushabhau Thakre Parisar, the BJP’s state headquarters, bringing together organisational representatives and public representatives.

The announced Sunday programme includes meetings with the state president, general secretary responsible for organisation, state general secretaries and other office-bearers. Discussions with divisional and district-level leaders are also scheduled.

Former MPs, former MLAs and former state office-bearers feature in the programme, providing an opportunity for the visiting leaders to receive organisational feedback from different levels of the party.

Legislators, MPs and Ministers on Monday’s Agenda

According to the announced itinerary, Monday’s engagements include separate meetings with BJP legislators, MPs and members of the state cabinet.

Discussions are also planned with chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of corporations, boards and commissions, followed by an interaction with representatives of the wider ideological family.

These are scheduled engagements; detailed decisions or outcomes have not yet been established by the reports available.

Simple Welcome Marks Arrival

The arrival report describes a restrained airport reception involving designated party representatives. A proposed motorcycle rally by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha was cancelled, while party flags were placed along the route to the state headquarters.

Irani’s visit begins a round of organisational consultations in Chhattisgarh, with discussions extending across the state leadership, district organisation and elected representatives.
