Delhi Police Special Cell Apprehends Four Suspects
The latest action follows an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged firing incident and the suspected involvement of individuals operating across different locations.
According to police, the four accused were apprehended by the Northern Range unit of Delhi Police’s Special Cell. Following their detention, the accused were produced before a competent court.
The court subsequently permitted Maharashtra Police’s CID, Mumbai, to formally arrest the suspects and granted three days’ transit remand, enabling investigators to take them to Mumbai for further legal proceedings and investigation.
The involvement of police agencies from two states highlights the interstate dimensions being examined in the case.
Investigation Reveals Alleged Procurement of Weapon from Amritsar
Police have disclosed details of the alleged sequence of events leading to the suspects’ involvement.
According to investigators, Kunal, who had recently been released from jail on bail, was allegedly introduced to a person identified as Anil Pandit through a friend from Harsana village.
Following the introduction, Kunal reportedly began communicating with Anil Pandit through an encrypted messaging application.
Investigators allege that, acting on instructions from Anil Pandit, Kunal travelled to Amritsar and collected a pistol along with 20 rounds of ammunition.
The alleged procurement of the firearm has become an important aspect of the investigation, particularly in establishing the movement of weapons and identifying individuals who may have facilitated the transaction.
Woman Allegedly Persuaded to Travel to Mumbai with Weapon
Police further claim that approximately two months before the latest arrests, Kunal met a woman identified as Radha and informed her about his activities.
According to the police account, Kunal allegedly persuaded Radha to travel to Mumbai with the weapon.
Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged journey, the intended purpose of transporting the firearm and the possible involvement of other individuals.
The precise roles of the two women apprehended in the case have not been fully detailed in the information released so far.
Encrypted Communications Under Investigation
The alleged use of an encrypted communication application has emerged as another significant element of the case.
Investigators are examining the reported communication between Kunal and Anil Pandit to establish the sequence of instructions, the circumstances surrounding the procurement of ammunition and the possible coordination of activities across different locations.
Such communications may prove relevant in reconstructing the events preceding the alleged firing incident.
However, the allegations against the accused remain subject to investigation and judicial scrutiny.
Maharashtra CID Takes Forward Investigation
With the court granting three days’ transit remand, Maharashtra Police’s CID is expected to pursue further questioning and examine the evidence gathered during the investigation.
The investigating agency will seek to establish the individual roles of the accused and determine whether the alleged procurement and transportation of the firearm were connected to a broader conspiracy.
The latest apprehensions represent another stage in the case, although investigators have yet to publicly establish the complete circumstances and motive behind the alleged firing incident.
The accused remain entitled to the presumption of innocence unless proven guilty before a court of law.
