Muscat: Five Indian nationals aboard the Kuwait-flagged tanker MT Kazimah III were safely brought ashore after the vessel was struck by a projectile in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Embassy of India in Oman.
The Embassy said in a post on X on Friday that it had coordinated the rescue of the five Indians following the incident involving the tanker.
The Indian nationals were subsequently shifted safely ashore with assistance from Omani authorities.
The Embassy expressed its appreciation to Oman for the support extended during the rescue operation.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime passages, particularly for energy shipments, making security incidents involving commercial vessels in the region a matter of international concern.
