Raipur: From colourful drawings of greener cities to street plays carrying messages of self-reliance and social responsibility, students across Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district brought their own imagination of a developed India to life under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan on Friday, September 18,2026

A series of creative and awareness activities was organised across the district to encourage children to think about their role in nation-building. Students used art, theatre, rangoli and public speaking to express ideas around education, skills, cleanliness, environmental protection, technological progress and responsible citizenship.

At Rani Durgavati Chowk in Gaurela, students of ITI Gaurela and Kasturba Gandhi Residential School staged a street play and participated in rangoli-based awareness activities. The performances highlighted youth participation in development and encouraged young people to build skills, pursue self-employment opportunities and contribute constructively to society.

From Street Theatre to the Classroom

Through the street play, students presented themes related to public service, youth power and nation-building. The performance also referred to opportunities for self-employment and schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana.

Messages on conserving water and electricity, maintaining cleanliness and protecting the environment were woven into the performances. Students also highlighted values such as hard work, discipline, unity and social harmony.

Rangoli provided another medium for expression, with students using colours and patterns to communicate messages about cleanliness, environmental responsibility and positive social change.

The activities sought to turn the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan into more than an institutional programme by giving young participants a platform to articulate what development means to them.

905 Schools Join ‘India of 25 Crore Children’s Dreams’

The campaign reached schools across the district through drawing and speech competitions organised under the theme ‘Pachchis Crore Bachchon Ke Sapnon Ka Bharat’ — ‘India of 25 Crore Children’s Dreams’.

According to the information released by the district administration, students from all 905 government and private schools in the district participated in activities associated with the initiative.

Their drawings portrayed ideas ranging from a clean and green India to modern education, technological advancement, self-reliance, social unity and sustainable development.

The speech competitions gave students an opportunity to explain how education, innovation, skill development, environmental conservation and public participation could contribute to India’s future.

Children Put Their Own Future on Paper

Perhaps the most striking aspect of the initiative was that children were not merely being told what a developed India should look like — they were being asked to draw, describe and perform their own vision of it.

Their work reflected aspirations for an India that combines technological advancement with environmental responsibility, modern infrastructure with social harmony, and economic opportunity with access to education.

The activities also provided students with opportunities to develop confidence, creativity and public-expression skills while engaging with wider questions about their responsibilities as future citizens.

Under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which began on September 17, similar programmes are being used to encourage public participation and community-oriented activities.

In Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, the involvement of students has added a distinctly youthful dimension to that campaign — placing the imagination of the next generation at the centre of conversations about India’s future.
