Key Factors

- Claimed the US has “1,000 missiles locked and loaded.”

- Remarks were made on Truth Social amid rising US-Iran tensions.
- The warning comes against the backdrop of long-running hostility following the 2020 killing of General Qasem Soleimani.
US President Says Any Attempt on His Life Would Trigger an Unprecedented Military Response; Tensions with Tehran Escalate Again
Washington D.C.: In one of his strongest warnings yet to Iran, US President Donald Trump has declared that the United States has “1,000 missiles locked and loaded” and ready to strike if Tehran attempts to assassinate him.
Posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump warned that any plot against his life would invite an overwhelming military response. He claimed that the US military was fully prepared to unleash devastating attacks across Iran if such an attempt were made.
According to Trump, “If Iran tries to assassinate me, America will respond with overwhelming force. One thousand missiles are locked and loaded.” He further suggested that the retaliation would continue relentlessly, targeting strategic locations throughout Iran.
The remarks come amid renewed tensions between Washington and Tehran following months of military confrontation, intelligence warnings, and allegations of Iranian-backed threats against current and former US officials.
US security agencies have previously acknowledged concerns about possible Iranian retaliation linked to the 2020 killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, an operation ordered during Trump’s first term as president. American authorities have stated in the past that they continue to monitor credible threats against several former senior US officials.
While Iran has repeatedly denied involvement in assassination plots targeting American leaders, diplomatic relations between the two countries remain deeply strained.
This is to be noted that Trump’s statement reflects a highly escalatory warning. While he has publicly made forceful remarks about Iran, claims regarding specific military readiness—such as “1,000 missiles locked and loaded”—should be understood as part of his public rhetoric unless independently confirmed by the US Department of Defense or other official sources
