Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended his best wishes to Amita Shriwas, a young mountaineer from the Janjgir-Champa district, for her upcoming expedition to Mount Everest.
During a meeting with Amita Shriwas on Monday April 6, 2026 at the Chief Minister’s Residence in the state capital, Raipur, Chief Minister Sai remarked that on April 9, Amita is setting off for Kathmandu with the resolve to hoist the Tricolor atop Mount Everest—the world’s highest peak. He noted that this journey is not merely a quest for personal achievement, but represents the soaring aspirations, courage, and self-confidence of the entire state of Chhattisgarh.
He stated that Amita’s expedition serves as a testament to the fact that if one’s resolve remains unwavering, no height remains unconquerable. He added that today, the daughters of the state are setting new benchmarks in every field through their talent and hard work, thereby giving a new identity to Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Sai highlighted that Amita Shriwas has already demonstrated her capability and tenacity by conquering Mount Kilimanjaro on International Women’s Day in 2021. He observed that her sustained efforts constitute not only a personal achievement but also a living source of inspiration for the state’s youth—particularly its young women.
He expressed his confidence that Amita would achieve success in this daring expedition, hoist the national Tricolor atop the world’s highest peak, and bring glory to the entire nation, including Chhattisgarh.
