First National Rover-Ranger Jamboree to be held in Balod

15,000 Rovers and Rangers from India and abroad will gather in Dudhli village from January 9 to 13, 2026
Raipur: It is a matter of immense pride for Balod district that the ‘First National Rover-Ranger Jamboree’ is being organised on a grand scale in Dudhli village, near the district headquarters of Balod, from January 9 to 13, 2026, under the aegis of Bharat Scouts and Guides, New Delhi.
This event is being held for the first time in the country, and a total of 15,000 Rovers, Rangers, and Senior Scouts and Guides from India and abroad, including 4,252 from Chhattisgarh, will participate.
Governor to inaugurate the Jamboree on January 9
The First National Rover-Ranger Jamboree will be inaugurated on today on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM by Governor Ramen Deka as the chief guest. The program will be presided over by the National President of Bharat Scouts and Guides and former Rajya Sabha MP, Dr. Anil Jain.
Many dignitaries will be present at the inauguration ceremony. The Minister of School Education of the state, Gajendra Yadav, Kanker Lok Sabha MP Bhojraj Nag, and Chief National Commissioner Dr. K.K. Khandelwal will be present as special guests. In addition, MLAs, senior officers of the state and district administration, national and state office bearers of Bharat Scouts and Guides, and local public representatives will also grace the occasion.
Chief Minister to be the chief guest at the closing ceremony on January 12
On the occasion of the closing ceremony of the Jamboree on January 12, 2026, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will be present as the chief guest. Along with him, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Finance Minister O.P. Chaudhary, and many other national and state-level guests will participate on various days of the event. A unique glimpse of Indian and global culture will be showcased
During this five-day event, participants from various states of India, including Chhattisgarh, and other countries will present colorful cultural programs.
This jamboree will offer a captivating glimpse of Chhattisgarhi and Indian culture, as well as global culture.
Exciting and educational activities will be organised
During the jamboree, numerous educational, cultural, and adventurous activities will be organised, including a march past, closing ceremony, ethnic fashion show, adventure area, water sports, campfire, road campfire, state exhibition, tribal carnival, National Youth Day, mass tree plantation, disaster management, band competition, youth parliament, quiz competition, and folk dances.
Robust arrangements for facilities, security, and health
The Bharat Scouts and Guides Jamboree Council and the district administration have ensured all necessary arrangements at the venue. Food items, medicines, and essential goods will be available at the Jamboree Market.
Arrangements include clean drinking water, toilets, bathrooms, sanitation facilities, a 30-bed temporary hospital, 24-hour medical facilities, fire services, police, traffic control, and security forces, along with a special deployment of the NDRF team.
A historic event for the state and district
The first National Rover-Ranger Jamboree is a historic achievement for Balod district and the entire state of Chhattisgarh. This event will not only strengthen the district’s identity at the national level but will also foster a strong sense of leadership, service, and nation-building among the youth.
