New Delhi : On the occasion of the new year, the cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken important decisions regarding farmers. The cabinet has given a gift to the farmers regarding subsidy on DAP fertilizer and crop insurance scheme. Now PM Modi has responded on these matters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday mentioned some other decisions of the Union Cabinet including increasing the allocation for the ‘Crop Insurance Scheme’ and said that the first decision of the government in the new year is dedicated to the farmers.
PM Modi also said in one post after another on the social media platform ‘X’ that the central government led by him is fully committed to further the welfare of farmers. Referring to this decision, the Prime Minister said, the first decision of the new year is dedicated to crores of farmer brothers and sisters of our country. We have approved increasing the allocation for crop insurance. While this will provide more security to the crops of the food producers, the worry of loss will also be reduced.
He said, our government is fully committed to further the welfare of farmers. We are proud of all our farmer sisters and brothers who work hard to feed our nation. The first Cabinet decision of 2025 is dedicated to increasing the prosperity of our farmers. I am happy that important decisions have been taken in this regard.
DAP will be available for Rs 1,350
The Prime Minister, while referring to the decision of the Union Cabinet to increase the one-time special package to Rs 3,850 crore to ensure the supply of DAP fertilizer to farmers at affordable rates, said that this will ensure the availability of DAP to farmers at affordable prices. With this decision of the Cabinet, farmers will be able to get a 50 kg bag of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) for Rs 1,350.
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana extended till 2026
Let us tell you that the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister has approved the continuation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme till 2025-26 with a total outlay of Rs 69,515.71 crore from the year 2021-22 to the year 2025-26. This decision will help farmers across the country in the risk coverage of crops from unavoidable natural disasters till 2025-26.
