Poetry and Story Competitions to be held in all districts for college students
Prizes will be awarded, and district winners will participate in the state-level competition
Original stories and poems will be accepted from students until December 30th
Raipur: Before the literature festival to be held in Nava Raipur next month, story and poetry competitions will be organised for college students in all districts of the state. Winners at the district level in both competitions will receive prizes.
The district winners will participate in the state-level competitions, and the best story and poem will be awarded at the Raipur Literature Festival. District-wise nodal officers are being appointed for this competition.
Students interested in participating in the competitions can submit their original poems and stories to the district nodal officer’s office by December 30, 2025. Stories and poems received after December 30th will not be included in the competition.
The Raipur Literature Festival will be held in Nava Raipur from January 23-25, 2026, to promote the state’s rich literary heritage and increase youth participation in literary writing.
In the poetry and story competitions organised for college students at the district level as part of the literature festival, the first prize will be ₹5,100, the second prize ₹3,100, and the third prize ₹1,500. Similarly, three consolation prizes of ₹1,000 each will also be given in both competitions.
The stories and poems that receive the first prize at the district level will be included in the state-level competition.
At the state level, the first prize will be ₹21,000, the second prize ₹11,000, and the third prize ₹7,000. Similarly, three consolation prizes of ₹5,100 each will also be given at the state level in both competitions. The poem submitted for the competition must be original, unpublished, and typed, with a minimum of 8 stanzas.
Similarly, the story must be original, unpublished, and typed, with a word count of approximately 1200 . Participants must be students of a college or university and should not be older than 40 years of age. Participants must also attach their college identity card or a certificate from their principal.
The decision of the judging panel will be final and binding. The awards will be announced in January 2026, and the winning participants will be felicitated at the Raipur Literature Festival on January 23, 24, and 25, 2026. When submitting the entry, “Youth Hindi Poetry and Story Writing Competition” must be clearly written at the beginning of the poem/story and on the envelope.
The winning poems and stories will be compiled and published, and the book will be released on the stage of the Raipur Literature Festival.
