Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurates Housing Board projects worth ₹ 2,060 crore

Over 12,000 affordable and quality homes will be built through 55 Housing Board projects in 26 districts of the state.

3-day state-level housing fair begins at Shankar Nagar BTI Ground

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated Chhattisgarh Housing Board housing projects worth ₹ 2,060 crore at the three-day state-level housing fair at the BTI Ground in Shankar Nagar, Raipur.

These 55 projects will be launched in 26 districts of the state, leading to the construction of over 12,000 affordable and quality homes. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also launched the Housing Board’s AI chat bot and portal. Through this, consumers will be able to easily access information about the Housing Board’s housing projects.

On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Housing and Environment Minister OP Choudhary, Revenue Minister Tankaram Verma, MLA Motilal Sahu, MLA Purandar Mishra, MLA Anuj Sharma, Chairman Housing Board Anurag Singhdev, Film Development Corporation Chairperson Mona Sen, Oil Mill Board Chairperson Jatin Sahu, along with other public representatives and a large number of citizens were present.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the Chhattisgarh Housing Board team is currently very good and is moving forward with innovation to provide affordable and quality housing to the people of the state. The Chhattisgarh government has cleared the Housing Board’s debt of ₹790 crore, making it debt-free so that the Board can work with a better strategy.

Referring to the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, which is being implemented not only in Chhattisgarh but across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide permanent houses to the needy and homeless, he said that in two years, 2.6 million people have been approved for housing under this scheme in Chhattisgarh. Housing is being built for everyone. Under the PM Janman Yojana, 32,000 houses have been approved for Scheduled Tribes (Specially Backward Tribes) and 15,000 houses for surrendered Naxalites and Naxal-affected families in Bastar.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister presented housing booking certificates, house keys, and freehold house certificates to Housing Board consumers at the state-level Housing Fair, congratulating them and wishing them well.

Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh praised the work of the Chhattisgarh Housing Board and said that the Board’s current team is doing excellent work in the housing sector. He stated that the success of the Housing Fair can be gauged from the fact that since the fair began, the roads have been jammed and traffic is unmanageable.

He commended the efforts being made under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to provide housing to needy families in the state, stating that he has made a provision of ₹14,000 crore in the budget for this purpose. Dr. Singh further said that all Housing Board projects will receive a positive response in the districts.

Housing and Environment Minister OP Choudhary expressed gratitude for the decisions taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to improve the functioning of the Housing Board and provide relief to consumers. He said that due to the special initiatives of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh Housing Board has been freed from a debt of ₹790 crore. He said that within a year, the Housing Board has done business worth ₹672 crore. The government has provided relief to the Housing Board and consumers by providing land diversion and freehold concessions.

OP Choudhary said that the Housing Board will begin construction of housing projects based on consumer demand.

Housing Board Chairman Anurag Singhdev also addressed the event. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Housing Board will construct houses in all districts of the state. In the next phase, we will also launch housing projects in all assembly constituencies.

It is worth mentioning that this state-level housing fair will continue at the BTI Grounds until November 25, 2025 .

From early morning on the first day of the fair, a crowd of people gathered at the fair grounds to inquire about the Housing Board’s housing projects and to book accommodation. Traffic jams formed on the road leading to Khamhardih from the Shankar Nagar turning point.
