Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has made a strong assertion regarding the cabinet expansion in Chhattisgarh. He clarified that the cabinet expansion in the state will be done under the Haryana formula. However, regarding the expansion, the CM said that ‘all that will happen, but we will have to wait.’ Today a meeting was held which was about the organisation., he added .
Let us inform you that at present two posts of ministers are vacant in the Sai cabinet. The organisation is trying to implement the formula of 14 ministers in Chhattisgarh on the lines of Haryana. Important faces of power and organisation are on a visit to Delhi, where a high level meeting has been held.
Although this meeting was focused on the organisational elections, it is believed that the cabinet expansion has also been approved in the presence of all the top leaders. Many leaders including BJP’s national co-organisation minister Shiv Prakash, regional organisation minister Ajay Jamwal, state in-charge Nitin Naveen, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw and Vijay Sharma, state president Kiran Deo Singh were present in the meeting.
One year has passed since the Vishnu Deo Sai government came into power. The government had earlier kept one ministerial post vacant, but after Brijmohan Agarwal was elected MP, he resigned from the MLA post. After his resignation, two posts in the cabinet became vacant. Brijmohan’s departments came under the Chief Minister. The burden of departments was already on the Chief Minister. There were talks of cabinet expansion right after the Lok Sabha elections, but the expansion was postponed till the Maharashtra and Jharkhand elections were over.
The government has also recently celebrated one year. Urban body and panchayat elections are around the corner. Many big leaders are eyeing the cabinet expansion. They hope that in case of expansion, their turn may come. During his stay in Delhi, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has met BJP National President J P Nadda. It is believed that the cabinet expansion was discussed in the meeting.
If the organisation sources are to be believed, in the meeting, the opinion was sought about the possible faces to be included in the cabinet. Recently, during the Janadesh Parv of the state government, National President J P Nadda had come to Chhattisgarh. During that time also, his opinion was sought in a closed room with the top leaders of the state in the BJP state office. At that time also, speculations were made that the cabinet expansion was discussed. The name of Durg city MLA Gajendra Yadav has been coming up in every discussion of cabinet expansion. Gajendra Yadav is the son of former RSS state chief Bisaram Yadav.
It is said that at the time of formation of the Sai cabinet, the name of Gajendra Yadav was also discussed, but then due to some reasons his name could not come in the final list. He has an upper hand because he belongs to the Yadav community. In the state, the Yadavs have the highest number in the OBC category after the Sahu community. In such a situation, the social equations also seem to be forming in favor of Gajendra Yadav. Here, the name of Bilaspur MLA Amar Agarwal has also come up rapidly in the possible cabinet expansion. Amar Agarwal, who has been a minister for 14 years, is known for doing result-oriented work. Amar Agarwal, who believes in working away from the crowd, had made the excise policy in the previous Raman government. The contract system of liquor sale was abolished. This decision led to an unprecedented increase in excise revenue. Amar Agarwal has been the only face in the country, who was a member of the GST Council for the longest time.
Rajesh Munat’s name is also in the headlines in the cabinet expansion. Munat, who has handled big departments like Housing and Environment, Transport, PWD, Urban Administration in the Raman government, is known for completing the biggest tasks. He is considered close to the Assembly Speaker and former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh. Ajay Chandrakar is also one of the possible names for cabinet expansion. Ajay Chandrakar, who has a fiery image, is known for his parliamentary knowledge and deep political understanding.
If there is a push for a face from Bastar division in the cabinet, then in such a situation, the current state president Kiran Deo Singh may be considered. Kiran Dev Singh has already demonstrated his leadership skills in the Lok Sabha elections. Vikram Usendi can also prove to be an important name. Apart from these possible names, Sunil Soni, who won the Raipur South by-election, can also get a wild card entry. Sunil Soni’s ticket was cut while he was an MP. The party fielded Brijmohan Agarwal in the Lok Sabha elections in his place. After winning the Lok Sabha elections, Sunil Soni contested from Brijmohan Agarwal’s vacant Raipur South assembly seat and registered a big victory. If for some reason, former ministers are cut from the cabinet expansion, then in such a situation, Sunil Soni’s name may be considered.
