Three new bills passed in Chhattisgarh assembly, separate fund will be arranged for the pensioners of the state, read what else is special?

Raipur: Three new bills were passed in the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Friday July 18, 2025 . All three bills were introduced by Finance Minister OP Choudhary. The first bill is related to the pensioners of the state. The government has decided to provide a dedicated financial arrangement for the state’s pensioners, potentially ensuring more stable and timely pension disbursements arrange a separate fund for the pensioners .
According Finance Minister O P Choudhary the state government will set up a separate pension fund which will manage the funds for the pensioners. Regular contributions will be made by the government in this fund, and the pension and other benefits of the pensioners will be paid from this fund only .
Chhattisgarh has become the first state in the country to make such a law. Every year about Rs 10,250 crore is spent on pension in Chhattisgarh, O P Choudhary said .
This move will be a significant relief for the pensioners . Besides it will help them receive pension and other benefits on time and without any hurdle .
In addition, the government has also announced some other benefits for pensioners, such as:
Pensioners will now get more assistance for medical facilities.
Pensioners will get more concessions to travel.
Pensioners will also get other assistance to improve their standard of living.
This decision is a testimony to the commitment of the Chhattisgarh government towards the pensioners of the state.
Chhattisgarh Growth and Stability Fund 2025 Bill passed
Another important bill, Chhattisgarh Growth and Stability Fund, has also been passed. Through this, a separate fund will be created for capital expenditure in the state.
Minister OP Choudhary said that this initiative has been taken so that if the revenue receipts ever decrease in future, then there is no problem of funds for the development of the state. Every year, 1% to 5% of the revenue received by the state in the form of mineral royalty will be deposited in this funds.
In the future, this fund will be used only for capital expenditure. He said that to ensure that power never goes into wrong hands and the fund is not misused, a provision has been made that the report of the expenditure of this fund will be presented in the assembly.
This fund will be audited by the CAG and that report will also be presented in the assembly.
Bill to State Capital Region Authority (SCRA) passed
A third bill was passed regarding the establishment of State Capital Region Authority. to oversee the integrated planning, regulation, and execution of development initiatives across the Raipur Metropolitan Region.
