Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has given instructions to all the major officials of the Health Department that access to medicines should be ensured till the last person. He has said that there are better possibilities of treatment through AYUSH in the state, it needs to be expanded further. He said that health facilities should continue to expand in the interest of the general public.

CM further said that better facilities should be ensured for the patients in the hospitals and they should get good treatment near their home. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai was reviewing various schemes of the Health Department in the Ministry on Thursday June 5, 2025 . Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has instructed the officials of the Health Department to work on diseases like anemia, maternal program and leprosy on priority basis.

In the meeting, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal informed the Chief Minister that Chhattisgarh is ranked 5th in the country in the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) program. He said that in the coming days, health facilities in the state will continue to expand further. Health Minister Jaiswal also presented future plans to the Chief Minister while giving information about the achievements made in the field of health after the formation of the state government.

Health Department Secretary Amit Kataria informed about the meeting that the state of Chhattisgarh is doing better work towards the elimination of diseases like TB and malaria. The treatment success rate towards TB elimination is 90 percent, while during this period 100 percent TB patients have been notified. Along with this, 94 percent of the vaccination target has been achieved in the state by March 2025.

Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary of Health Department Amit Kataria, Secretary to Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat and Mukesh Bansal, Commissioner Medical Education and Commissioner AYUSH Department Shikha Rajput Tiwari, Managing Director NHM and Commissioner cum Director Dr. Priyanka Shukla, Controller of Food and Drugs Department Deepak Aggarwal and senior officers of Health Department were present in the review meeting of the Health Department.
