Bezirgan, who has documented Khalistani protests in Canada, the US, the UK and New Zealand, said the mob that intimidated him on Sunday June 8 , 2025 was led by an agitator.
A case of intimidation of an investigative journalist by Khalistan supporters has come to light in Canada. Investigative journalist Mocha Bezirgan told that those people surrounded her while making a video during a weekly rally in the city of Vancouver.
Speaking to news agency ANI on Sunday Kune 8 , 2025 over the phone, Bezirgan told that Khalistan supporters intimidated, threatened and also snatched her phone for some time.
‘I am still trembling’
Bezirgan said that this incident happened to me just two hours ago and I am still trembling. They behaved like goons. They followed me and snatched my phone. They tried to stop me from recording.
‘We will end the politics of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in G-7’
Speaking to ANI, Bezirgan said that the reason for tension between Canada and India is a political issue, but I think we are ignoring what is happening here underground. What are these people saying, how are they exercising their freedom of expression, while they are celebrating the killers of Indira Gandhi and saying that they will end the politics of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in G-7.
He said that when I asked them (Khalistan supporters) whether you are going to end their politics in the same way as you ended Indira Gandhi’s politics? Because they call the killers their ancestors. They say that we are the descendants of Indira Gandhi’s killers and they are glorifying these acts of violence.
Bezirgan, who has documented Khalistani demonstrations in Canada, the US, the UK and New Zealand, said that the mob that intimidated him on Sunday was led by an agitator who has harassed him online before.
Investigative journalist Mocha Bezirgan said that suddenly two or three people came in front of me. I started a backup recording on my phone, then one of them snatched the phone from my hand. Vancouver police officers present nearby intervened and ordered them to back off. Bezirgan also later recorded a statement.
