Raipur : Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, efforts are being made to remove the anomalies of the old Waqf Bill through the new Waqf Amendment Act 2025, so that the lives of the backward and poor sections of the Muslim community can be improved and they can be included in the mainstream of development. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said this in a lecture series organised by Waqf Sudhar Janjagran Abhiyan Samiti Raipur on Tuesday , May 1, 2025 in the Medical College Auditorium on the subject of Waqf Amendment Act 2025.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the Waqf Amendment Act 2025 is in the interest of Muslims and all Muslims will benefit from it. This bill is not against the Muslim community. This law has been brought after consultation with subject experts and all sections of the society.

The keynote speaker of the lecture series, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, reforms are being done rapidly in the country. He said that whether it is the removal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir or the removal of laws like triple talaq and giving rights to women of Muslim society, all these works have been done under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now, through the Waqf Bill, efforts are being made to bring about positive reforms by removing the irregularities of the Waqf Board while giving the backward Muslims their rights. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh further said that our government is trying to ensure that only the real people of the society can get the benefit of Waqf.

Through a power point presentation, he gave detailed information about the losses and anomalies caused by the amendment made in the Waqf Act in 2013 by the UPA government in a hurry. Along with this, detailed information was given regarding the benefits of the current Waqf Amendment Act 2025 and the removal of anomaly provisions.

On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Ram Vichar Netam said that we all have to avoid the misunderstanding being spread in the society regarding the Waqf Act and we have to recognise and know the reality of the new Waqf Act. Our department will also organise such Jagran or lecture series from the district level to the development blocks. On this occasion, former MLA Bhatapara Shivratan Sharma, Dhamtari Mayor Shri Ramu Rohra, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Waqf Board Dr. Salim Raj and intellectuals of Muslim society were present in large numbers.
