New Delhi: Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on Monday March 17 slammed the United Nations for misinterpretation of Kashmir issue and labelling an “invasion” as a “dispute”.
In his speech at Raisina Dialogue 2025, EAM Jaishankar referred to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as the “longest-standing illegal presence and occupation of a territory by another country” since World War II.
“We went to the UN. What was an invasion was made into a dispute. The attacker and the victim were put on par. Who were the culpable parties? UK, Canada, Belgium, Australia, USA?” said Jaishankar.
Calling out the international organisation, the External Affairs Minister said that the world needs a strong and fair United Nations. “”The international organisations that were created have become almost irrelevant, there is no reform in them. Institutions like the UN cannot play their role. People in the world who do not care about laws and rules are doing everything, no one is able to stop them,” he stated.
