Raipur: The Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Government of India, Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani made a courtesy call on Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday July 27, 2025 at the Chief Minister’s residence office in the capital Raipur.

During the meting a detailed discussion between the two leaders regarding rural development, coordinated implementation of central and state government schemes, strengthening of communication facilities in tribal areas and ongoing development works in Maoist affected areas.

Chief Minister Sai informed about the efforts being made by the state government to realize the development-oriented vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the ground. He informed that in the first cabinet meeting after the formation of our government, 18 lakh pucca houses have been approved, due to which the dream of housing of the poor families of the state is being fulfilled. He said that Atal Digital Seva Kendras have been started in 1,460 Gram Panchayats to strengthen banking services, due to which the rural population is getting easy and accessible banking facility.

While discussing the steps taken towards economic empowerment of women, Chief Minister Sai said that skill development and innovation are being encouraged by the state government. The work being done by women self-help groups in rural areas has set a new example of self-reliance.

Union Minister of State Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani informed Chief Minister Sai about his visit to Narayanpur and Mohla-Manpur-Ambagadh Chowki districts. He said that the schemes of the Central Government are being implemented effectively in these areas and the local people are getting direct benefits from them.

Dr. Pemmasani praised the positive changes taking place at a rapid pace in the Maoist areas and called it a sign of bright future for Chhattisgarh. Referring to the exhibition organized by women self-help groups under the ‘Bihan’ scheme, he said that the quality of bell metal, millets and household products prepared by the sisters of the group is highly commendable.

He said that the women of these groups are earning a monthly income of 15 to 20 thousand rupees, which is a remarkable achievement towards the self-reliance of rural women.

Recalling the traditional welcome of the tribal community, Dr. Pemmasani said that the experience of dancing with them and connecting spiritually with the local culture was unforgettable. He also made a special mention of the visit to Pariyana Divyang ( Differently abled ) Residential School and described the heartfelt conversation with the children there as a very emotional moment.

He praised the efforts being made by the government for the Divyang children. Chief Minister’s Secretary P. Dayanand was present on this occasion.
