Sergio Gor said on Friday February 20, 2026 that a possible meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump would take place at the right time.
When Gor was asked about the possibility of a meeting between PM Modi and Trump at the India AI Impact Summit, he told the agency, “Stay tuned. I’m sure it will happen at the right time.”
US President Trump hosted PM Modi on an official working visit to Washington, DC, on February 13 last year.
What did Sergio say about the AI Summit?
Speaking to the media after returning from the opening session of the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, Gor said, “It was a very impactful summit. There are many opportunities between our two countries. We look forward to engaging.”
In addition to Sergio Gor, visiting US Secretary of Economic Affairs S. Krishnan was present when India signed and exchanged the Pax Silica Declaration.
Earlier this month, Sergio Gor described the India-US relationship as having “unlimited potential” when President Donald Trump announced a new bilateral trade agreement. Following this announcement, US tariffs on Indian goods were significantly reduced. This decision also marks a major shift in energy and technology cooperation.
