”Theatre a source of Education to get rid of dilemma “-Artist Jyoti Dogra

Raipur : A seminar on “Theatre for Education” was organised in the seminar hall of Raipur’s Pragati College, Chaubey Colony, on Friday, November 14, 2025, under the auspices of the Department of Education, to understand the pressures of “body, mind, art, and media.”
International theater artist Jyoti Dogra was the chief guest and speaker. Her assistants, Garima Diwakar and Mayank, were also accopanying with her .

The interactive theater performance organised for this occasion highlighted the impact of media on body image and mental health. Following this, Jyoti Dogra delivered a captivating performance, showcasing how women are forced to adapt their definition of beauty to society, such as weight gain and clothing uncertainty.

She further discussed how to cope with social pressures and emphasised coping strategies and self-awareness in the digital age. All the students spent hours listening to this captivating play. Keep staring without movinhg up from their respectibe seats .

The Principal of the College Dr. Soumya Nayyar praised the presentation of this play and said that such programs help in inculcating loving oneself and self-respect in girls, and in understanding the pressures of the media and learning how to deal with them.

At the end of the program, the students expressed their curiosity to Jyoti Dogra by asking her questions, which she answered in a convincing manner.
The program was hosted by Swaleha Nisa, Assistant Professor of Education.
The Principal, Dr. Soumya Nair, as well as the Head of the Education Department, Dr. K.N. Gajpal, Head of the Journalism Department, Dr. Praveen Kumar Yadav, all the professors and all the students were present
on the occasion .
